Fab! The scenery is very awesome. 👍 The electric fence incident was hysterically funny (sorry). 😁❤

You've creatively blended scenery, music and monologue to showcase an adventurous day ride. And your description of butterflies feasting on rotting fruit was delightful. Overall splendidly done. So then, it leaves me wondering, what is the allure of a multi-day ride? Is a multi-day ride merely a succession of day rides or is there something special about the overnight part? Perhaps you could monologue a bit about this in a future video.

That is a good question actually. It's one of those ones that I instinctively assume I have an answer for but actually when I try to condense it into a comment I can't really get right. Maybe there is a video to be had on the subject. Thanks for watching and for the inspiration as well!

@@JethroJessop Should you really Jethro?🤔 With all your clothes lying on the other shore... That would have been an operation with a substantial risk of leading to a not-only-fans situation!😉 What would you have told the fair princess, when she comes out of the castle for a refreshing stroll in the garden? "Good afternoon, I am here to inspect your masonry!"?😉 Gentlemen, despite high priority, there really must be some limits to what you would do, to get a glimpse of masonry!

I only ever go masonry spotting while fully clothed. Anything else would just be improper! I imagine the princess must be pretty used to spotting skinny dippers if her balcony overlooks that spot. It's a great little swimming stop!

Vilken härlig dag!😃☀️💦🌿 Och Tip Top var förresten min favoritglass som barn. If you want a destination for your next video, you could go and see Skånes knasigaste träd at Vombsjöns badplats, a big old oak tree with lots of personality, a character developed for hundreds of years. I bet it would be good enough even for Lance and Andy.😉 You really do have a tendency to put vivid images in my head, with words, as efficiently as with camera. However I must say I do prefer "A huge cloud of Red Admiral butterflys" over "Leeches the size of baby crocodiles" any day!😉
@JethroJessop4 ай бұрын
That sounds like a great destination! I do love a nice old tree. I went to see the troll oak at the north end of öland years ago which was amazing, i also saw Old Tjiko at Fulufjället national park. I shall add this to my list of places to ride to and will do my best to wax lyrical about it when I get there - all butterflies and baby otters, no ticks or leeches 😉
@Anna-Ess4 ай бұрын
@@JethroJessop I too love old trees. And yes, Troll-eken is a cool one, and the forest around it, too. I've been there a couple of times over the years. And I've cycled the really beautiful stretch along the west coast from Äleklinta to Trollskogen, and the Lighthouse Långe Erik. Much of it is easy gravel or smooth tarmac, but there is a stretch through the pine forest north of Byerum where you'll have to hike your bike through the sand. A then find the single track footpath that goes along the ridge of the high sand dune, just at the edge of the forest. With an amazing view of the sea to your left, and open airy pine forest with high, lush blueberry bushes to your right. If you have the strength to ignore most of the delicious blueberries, you might just reach the lighthouse before sunset. My son and I didn't, so we got to see something very special at nightfall, on the stoney beach, just a few meters north of the lighthouse. A hundred lightning bugs, glow worms spreading their light, like little greenish stars, fallen from the sky. A really magic night!
@JethroJessop3 ай бұрын
I think I have ridden that same stretch myself. It was a fantastic ride though I didn't get the glow worm display which sounds really amazing. I definitely got sidetracked by foraging though, I'm a sucker for free food 😉 Been out today scrumping apples in fact

Hey, you still have something to learn about Scandinavia: wild swimming equals skinny dipping, so forget the wet pants dilemma! No need to film every second either should you feel shy. Another thought: perhaps there's a reason for the electric fencing. It just might be that wild bikers are not allowed/welcome 🤔 Souther Sweden looks amazingly flat, so I assume it is easy(ish) to ride. Beautiful place. Enjoy! And please: enlighten us all with your own poetry of the saddle, starting with those butterflies 🤩
@JethroJessop4 ай бұрын
More than that, what I've learned is that in Sweden wild swimming isn't a thing really, it's so common to swim in lakes and the sea that it's all just swimming. Not sure what the electric fence was for to be honest. It looked like the kind of field that might take cows but it was empty on this day and had just been mown for hay. Probably something to do with troll management 😉

@JethroJessop4 ай бұрын
I really hope that will happen too. There is pretty much unlimited possibility for exploring to the point that you don't really need named trails. There is so much forest and wilderness, especially as you go north. There are lots of long distance touring routes of the friendly paved kind and I have a few ideas of my own for rides as well. The closest thing to something like the badger would maybe be the Bergslagsleden - bikepacking.com/routes/bergslagsleden/ - which looks great!

I've had a magnetic compass on my bike for years. It's occasionally useful but I don't really know how to use a compass properly so most of the time it's little more than a point of interest. One of the things on my long to-do list is to learn proper map and compass navigation.
