Staff duty can suck here's a mini story I got stuck on staff duty with that one NCO -_- had me studying weapons systems the whole time then at night I picked up cigarette buds outta the company parking lot and barracks parking lot all night the morning comes and I had to direct traffic for the PT runners then I went home the guys who relieved us slept the whole time so u get to see the difference between who u get stuck with

No cable, no single rooms, luckily two of my former platoon mates showed up a few week later and we were gone every weekend we were not in the field. I would have lost my mind or gotten chaptered out if they did not show up.

No, but youll have money so long as you understand and care for your personal finances. Youll be away from your kid 6-12 months every year and a half or so, youll be in the field from 1-4 weeks every other month or so and possibly have workdays that stretch from 5/6am to 4-9pm depending on your unit.

I was Air Defence Artillery (16S). Garrison life was similar. Motor pool for PMCS, common task training, cleaning stuff, equipment layouts, etc.

I was in 2000-04 yeah we had company CQ, at the company level CQ was an officer and usually had an E5 or E6 as a runner, in the barracks it was usually an E5 and a lower enlisted as a runner

USMC here, morning PT, sometimes no time for chow/food. Sit in rooms all day or train in the immediate area mostly, if not in the field or on a range. Final formation and were cut for the day. Then you do whatever you want in the local area or even not local (so long as you are available for accountability the next day)

Are there many differences between American Basic Training and Australian Basic Training i want to go to Kapooka and i have been researching, watching vlogs, studying practice aptitude tests, ive also done the ASVAB practice tests but am not sure if they are relevant to the Australian Infantry, I weigh 58kg and am training in fitness aswell, Im looking for all the knowledge i can to help me get through basic training.

I would ask them about the job you wanna do, if you have one in mind. ask about bonuses, gi bill, when you could actually leave for basic, things like that. also, don't let them talk you into a job you don't wanna do.

When I was Germany work Monday through Friday get off work and lift weights. Go back to my room and prepare room and uniform for the next day. Weekends go out and explore the surrounding area and go to bars or discotechs. Stateside at Fort Polk, LA, same thing Mon-Friday. Weekends I would always leave to Lafayette, Baton Rouge, New Orleans, Houston, Lake Charles and Panama City. That is if we were not in the field.
