I went in 11B and a girl I knew in high school went MP and was in Alabama. I drive over from Benning and hung out a couple of days and she was convinced that the MPs went in first and took over a location and were then relieved by the infantry. I tried to explain that she had it backwards but they had her brainwashed. Her DS tried to come fuck with me and get me to do push-ups and I laughed at him. She got impregnated and separated out within the year.

In basic, when had a guy from Jamaica. He was an "old man" at 30 years old going through OSUT. He was an 8 year veteran of a police force in Jamaica before coming here and joining. This guy could eat FAST, so the drill sergeants picked him to be the last one through the chow line (not sure how it is now..I joined in 1992 and know things have changed lots...but everyone had to be finished eating by the time the last guy in line was done). So by the time you sat down and starting digging into that Ft. Benning goulash..he was standing up yelling "First platoon, lock and load"!!!. Everyone was like WTF, dude??? Well one night my battle buddy decided he was going to "teach him a lesson" about this issue. It did not go well for him..at all. This Jamacian whooped his ass so fast and so bad that nobody could believe it. And I mean it was a beating...my battle buddy was trying to get away..crawling..and dude grabbed his ankle and pulled him back to beat on him more......Needless to say we learned to make a sandwich out of everything and eat faster after that.. Good times!

We got a E-5 convert from 11b to 66n, uh-1 TI. Dude had no idea what he was doing, none. Our NCOIC had me go out after he 'TI'd' something to make sure it was right. But he was golden! Airborne, max PT score. Didn't know the difference between the hyd system and the xmsn oil system but he was goin places. After 6 months he was moved to the orderly room, smart move. Even our Warrants who were ex-11b's didn't trust him. They should have not let him be a 66 until he had worked the line as a 67 for a few years.

I’m a Marine that went army. I, another marine, and an 82nd airborne medic went all 14 weeks due to army miscommunication. I was there when the first female reclasses ever popped in on week 7. It went from a brotherhood to weak in a week. Not to mention, you can no longer piss in the woods any more like we did before that week. We had to prep to make the training and infantry guys female friendly and we still had a DS get SHARPed for calling another male DS a dick. Oh and we had to lower ruck weight. Going marine to army was a joke but holy crap that was non stop.

Josiah 777 Oh I know, we did get a female medic in my unit (Infantry) that was a total badass. She could out PT (On the Male standards) over 95% of the guys and she could keep up with the scouts and out shoot many of our snipers. She definitely deserves to be given a chance to go to RIP. I'll have to check and see if she ever went, I know she was offered it once it was available. Plus she had a SMOKING HOT wife too. Both lipstick lesbians.

Oh I forgot about the guys who were the "Bolo Badge Collectors". I knew a few guys back in the late 80s who were lucky to be in high speed units as soon as they finished OSUT Infantry and Airborne. One dude I knew at Ft. Carson CO. got into my battalion. He was the youngest E-5 I believe in the entire division. He was only 21 years old. This guy had Expert Infantry Badge, Airborne, Air Assault, Pathfinder, Italian, French, German, Spanish Jump Wings. To top it off his unit sent him to Ranger School before he made E-5 and smoked PLDC as top graduate. All because he got sent to Vicenza Italy as a young Private after Airborne School. This guy was very high speed in everyway. This fucker couldn't be touched or criticized by any officer or NCO in my battalion. After leaving for Panama a year later he made E-6 at 22 years old. Very rare for a soldier back in the late 80s. He was the guy at the right place and the right time always. Never heard or saw him again after. His name is still unknown to me till this day after 30 years trying to find him on Facebook.

They receive the same corrective training, disciplinary action, etc. They're treated like any male 11 series with respect to their pay grade (all of them are E-3 and below at this point, although I had heard there were some new female 11A; this I can't confirm.)
