Great video Alice, you covered an interesting area in this film. A big area too, lots of hidden gems along your route 😊 I like egg custard tarts too and carrot cake. Although the Portuguese version - Pastéis de Nata, is made very different to our English ones. I prefer the English ones lol 😋 great story about Old Tom too 😊

We enjoyed you day trip to London, Alice. Love the passageways and seeing one of the "Ripper" sights. Oh, Oh, to bad it's not a history challenge with the 1108AD Priory sign! Loved the stroll, so many old buildings and passages. London really is a lovely town. Seeing Donavon's was wonderful. The paper bag business must be good seeing how long they've been there! Lunch looked wonderful. Don't remember ever having Nigerian food. The St. Mary Axe was enjoyable to see even if it's newer. The history of the location so sad. Loved your stroll though it and your reflections. The Leadenhall Market was stunning! So colorful and exotic and the ceiling dome beautiful. Love the architecture! Thanks so much for the tour Alice. Loved it!

Thanks Dave and Kathy. London is a fascinating place with history on every corner. It's no surprise that I'm planning to make more videos from London this year. If you ever come over I would love to show you around. More London videos are coming to Patreon shortly, which I made last year.

Very interesting to see St Mary Axe, I didn't even know if it was actually a real location, but it's mentioned in Gilbert & Sullivan's 'The Sorcerer', in the song 'My name is John Wellington Wells, I'm a dealer in magic and spells'. Apparently it used to be pronounced Simmery-Axe. You visited quite a few really interesting locations, great video as always.

Thanks Walter. It's an interesting and historic part of London. More so than any short video can cover.

I suggest you to come & visit my lovely country Bangladesh. However, could you please travel and make a video on Ireland? Specially where Enya and Bono live. Actually I love Irish folk and therefore want to feel the Irish natural beauty which I learn those folk songs.

Would love to visit Bangladesh. It's on my list of countries to visit. Hoping to visit Ireland again next year, another few trips are planned. As for Enya, we are related. We are distant cousins. We share the same ancestors who lived a few hundred years ago.

St Botolph has replaced St Christopher as the saint for travellers then. It's all a bit to Catholic for me. I wonder if Crispin Street was named after St Crispin because of the victory at Agincourt ?
@AliceGoss
@AliceGoss 2 жыл бұрын
Quite a few saints are now patrons of travelers, depending upon the type of journey, but circum navigation is certainly St. Christopher. Not sure about Crispin street, so will look that up for my next video from that area.
