Day trip to Yokohama, Hakone and Kamakura, Japan [easy day trip from Tokyo]

Kanagawa is a coastal prefecture in Japan, located within a short distance of Tokyo. The capital of the prefecture is Yokohama. Yokohama is also the place where most of the 2019 Rugby World Cup games were held.
Kanagawa Prefecture is also home to Kamakura and Hakone, two other highly popular day trip destinations that you can easily reach on a day trip from Tokyo.
Kanagawa has a lot to offer visitors to the region, such as rich cultural heritage, tasty cuisine and entertaining nightlife. It's worth spending some time here and exploring this unique area of Japan.
Within this helpful Japan travel guide, we unearth the hidden gems that are worth discovering around the Kanagawa Prefecture. We started in Yokohama, where we stayed in a capsule hotel, visited the
Cup Noodles Museum and the Shin-Yokohama Ramen Museum. Both were very yummy experiences. At night we headed into the Noge district, where you find great bars and food.
Next to the Yokohama Harbor Front, you'll find also China Town. Good day trips are to Hakone with Lake Ashi, Owakudani valley and the Hakone Shinto Shrine with the Floating Gate.
The Hakone Transport Pass is helpful to get around, which includes the busses, trams, ropeway & the Hakone sightseeing cruise.
Another cultural day trip is to Kamakura where you can visit the Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine and the Houkokuji Bamboo Forest with its Tea Ceremony. You can also experience the Masamune Sword and Blade Workshop, where you can buy kitchen knives and see the original Samurai swords.
For lunch we recommend Okonomiyaki Kamakura Tsukui. Have fun exploring the areas of Yokohama, Hakone and Kamakura on your next trip to Japan.

This was a fun trip. It has been my (Melvin) first time to Japan & it was really interesting and cool. And it was much easier to travel around than I thought, especially with having a WiFi device with us, which you can rent for your trip on arrival.

Kamakura is definitely worth a day trip from Tokyo. If you arrive early in the morning you can see The Great Buddha with basically nobody there. Looking forward to more videos :) keep up the great work.

We didn't even make it to the Great Buddha, but the temple we visited, the bambus garden with tea ceremony & the samurai swordship were also really fun. :-)

That really depends on the way you travel. You can stay quite cheap in guesthouses and capsule hotels. But standard hotels are about the same like in Western Europe. Food is cheap and good.
