So simple yet a brilliant riff. Probably my all time favourite - its a big call given the amount of great guitar riffs in music over the decades

Another way to do the B riff, the way some bass players do it is to put your little finger on B (7th fret low E string) then the minor major thing (5 then hammer on 6 on the A string) and you can find the rest of the notes in that position. You don't need to move your hand. If you play the B riff the way Justin shows it, you may find that doing the minor/major (2nd and third notes from the start) is easier with your little finger as you don't have to move so far. You won't get the B5 (power chord) sound but try it that way anyway, sooner or later it will help you learn the notes in one position.

Hi Justin, I'm learning "Day Tripper" with your two speed cadence. Spending an hour a night. Surprised the riff was minimal difficulty. One finger at a time on four strings, then the "second half." It's a patient clear way to learn this great song!

This is an old video but thanks for showing the real chords for the chorus. Every tab I ever found growing up was just the basic chord of the root note for each chord, and it never sounded right. It wasn’t until this lesson that I learned the chords are 7chords and it sounds accurate now. Great lesson and playing man.

Well, you learn something new every day! I've spent nearly 50 years playing this wrong. I heard the F#-G and B-C as a slide or hammer on. I also learn it in the wrong key (G) because the Beatles Complete song book published in the 70s I think put it in that key. That book has got a lot to answer for. Its not the first inaccuracy to come out of it. I think it was written by a pianist not a guitarist, unless that's how Northern Songs published it originally?

Justin, You are a good teacher. I enjoy your lessons and learn a lot from you. Your style is clean. Please don't take offense. May I suggest, people who can play your stuff should know where the A note is on the 1st string. Saying D on the 3rd string rather than 7th fret 3rd string elevates the art. You obviously know the theory. Heck throw in "its a 3rd or an add 9. Just a thought. Thanks for taking the time.
