Don't forget about Marty!!!
@TheEarthBlues210 жыл бұрын
TheTheaterThug Marty is awful compared to Justin. I know they're good friends, but Justin is on another level in terms of his production, sound quality, and ability to articulate the slight and often unknown intricacies of a song. Justin is a special guitar player who also has a knack for teaching. Marty, on the other hand, is a talented guitarist, but only an average teacher. Just my opinion, but different strokes for different folks, ya know?
@SLASHERHEATH10 жыл бұрын
TheEarthBlues2 Marty can be very accurate, but he had a lot of beginner's lessons to start off with. I think he is a great teacher for newcomer's; I've been playing for a year and my guitar skills have really come on through him and Justin. Justin is very accurate, but with guitar playing you want to find your own voice/ sound and develop your own versions of songs sometimes - I feel Marty gives you the foundations on which to achieve that :)

When you do a playthrough with singing at the beginning it's actually really helpful for learning, so I hope you'll continue to do it for most songs! But nevertheless, Creep's an awesome tune so thanks!

Just saw your lessons for the first time, theres a lot of good teachers out there but you know you hit upon someone good when they breakdown EACH guitar part EXACTLY how you hear it on the record. You are that person, think I'm gonna learn a lot from you.

It's kinda difficult considering almost none of their songs are in standard tuning but if he did decide to do some of their songs that'd be pretty sweet

Thats very true considering the unorthodox ways or things they did to their guitars to get unique sounds. Cross the Breeze would be my #1 pick if I had to choose, for him to cover/teach.

Hi Justin, thanks, this is just a great tune and I picked up your excellent instruction in less than 30 mins. I changed the barre chords to a 5th string B on the 2nd fret then C - Cm on 3rd. Makes a nicer Cm sound in my opinion, but guess your chord voicings are nearer the actual version !. Keep up the good work.

Thanks again, Justin. This is really challenging to play on a 12 fret classical guitar with long fingers. Gonna keep trying but might find an acoustic version that doesn't use barre chords!

What's up brotha!!? Badass tutorial, and set up well to teach us easy. I'm going to be covering this song for my first every, 3 song, open mic gig coming up soon. :) The guy helping me out, who is substituting for me on lead vocals (I can play and sing but for my first time stepping on stage, I better not be too cocky and just concentrate on guitar), asked if we could cover this song for the 3rd and final song. I think it will turn out pretty good because of your tutorial brotha. The last part, where you show the use of octaves (I was first introduced with this method from listening to the great Wes Montgomery, which is probably, in my mind, the king and master of using octave notes, even during solos), that really sounds wicked!! I'm going to have to use the octave part you showed.
