Day Twenty-Six- In the Opinion of the World

It’s essential for us to spend an entire day on this one phrase: in the opinion of the world. Because, over the final four days, without this context, the Litany could lead us astray. It doesn’t mean, it’s not ok to be chosen, it’s not ok to be praised, it’s not ok to be noticed, it’s not ok to be preferred. Instead, it’s saying, be mindful because those desires are powerful and they are meant to draw you toward God. But the world is really good about manipulating those for its own gain and your detriment.
