Just walked in to hear about the oil seed rape. Good explanation 👏. Nice to hear all about it. Husband hog's the TV. While I'm busy doing house work. Only get to see bits. Or hear from different room.

Hi Olly, this fickle weather is making it hard work, son did a round of our winter wheat starting 6:30 pm ish, but came in at 17%, need 15 so we don't have to dry it. Dew already on the lawn. Take care and thanks, as always fore the vlogs. 90% today, had the day to myself, which I love.

Been combining wheat today in Norfolk had one field doing 4.5 tones to the acre. Me and my dad say it’s not raining until you have to turn the windscreen wiper on. 724 looks mins Sam looks after it like I look after my puma.

I used to take our osr to Liverpool. Every time the security/weigh bridge operator looked my delivery note it had Lowick to Liverpool. Which upset them (its not Liverpool ) it's vauxhall 😆😆😅🤣😂

Easy done hitting a hidden manhole cover, I once wrote off a Claas drum mower by hitting a very proud manhole in a cuctomers field when I was contracting. You would think farmers would mark them if using contractors. Shame about the weather, best day we have had for ages down here in Somerset. Have you ordered the side guard for the header yet, would be interested to know the cost. See ya tomorrow.

Always have some gafffer tape & silicon in the granary it's surprising how abrasive grain is when it's moved about and the smallest hole can cause a big mess if not noticed

Don't just tape over the hole, cut a bit of tinplate and tape that over the hole, it'll last a lot longer.

We store rape too but for a different company, but half of it goes into the on-site press over the year for high quality rapeseed oils. About 60% today had half the night in hospital with an infected knee

Interestingly I saw someone cutting hedges and they said it was derogation work for rape ground. So whether they had to get a permit or something but they were hedgecutting on the 1st August

i think it is for the weight of the header but i am no farmer either

It is to help spread the weight of the combine over a bigger area so the soil does not get too compacted. Farmers can get a penalty if the ground is compacted above a certain level or %.

They always do get bit rough around edges be nice to not be urban fringe with manholes and have large gates ways that don’t have to be fortified to stop pouchers and fly tippers

@@OllyBlogsAgricontractfarmer Wow. I guess you adapt because you have to but that would make a big difference to us. We have tended to follow the UK rules and regulations normally about 10 years later although we can still burn stubble. Now our stupid government is obsessed with water quality and nitrogen capping is coming. Dairy farms are already limited to 190 kgs/ha per annum. Sick of being told what you can do with your own land.
