This episode is one of my favorite episodes of Teenage Robot! I just adore the different artstyles being used for Jenny's dream mode! But, I never knew that this episode was also teaching the life lesson of addiction and that is why I appreciate this episode so much!

Wow, I never thought about this episode as being about addiction, but it fits. (Kinda like how "Victim of Fashion" is in some ways about eating disorders.) It used to be one of my favorites when I was younger, but now I'm not so sure. As for Nora being evil, I think that's nonsense. I think it's more a case of her being well-meaning but making mistakes. As for why she didn't make it so the dream chip couldn't be manually activated, she was probably in a rush to get Jenny a chip before she went to bed that night, and as such was unable to put in the features needed to stop her from abusing it (or she just didn't think to do it). Also, does the channel have anything planned for the 20th anniversary on August 1st?

I always found it hilarious, the amount of teenage robots (there's not a lot, but for some reason it seems to apply to ALL of them) where their creators *literally* programmed them to have shreks drives. And it's always stuff like... "I should make her attracted to cars/toasters/etc" xD Like, can't just leave it at "ability to make friends", no. It GOTTA be the urge to bone xD Which... only raises MORE questions.

Daydream Believer is one of favorite episodes in the series. Aside from the different art styles featured, I think the ideas or storyline presented makes it feel, at most original to the series. I've said it before when the Speak No Evil retrospect video was released that some of the scenarios that Jenny is in feel like they aren't too comparable to other episodic cartoons. What a coincidence that Daydream came out around the same time as the live action Cat In The Hat movie.

Nice theory about Nora Wakeman. I was suspicious of her ever since the infamous Return of Raggedy Android episode. In fact, I have the same feeling about Professor Utonium from The Powerpuff Girls with his atrocities and stupidity throughout the series.

In my opinion, this episode was a bit better than most of Season 1. It had a weird yet interesting plot and some of the scenes it had did made me giggle a bit. But to be honest, I feel like I only remember this episode was for it's constant change in art-style for Jenny's dreams. I found it interesting to see the show try to recreate some specific styles of animation from the past. Especially the Dr Seuss part. I also didn't really expect that it's about "addiction", I thought it was just some goofy idea that the writers randomly thought of while working on the show. As for the rest, it's alright, but I think the scenes that aren't from Jenny's dreams are kinda forgettable. Simple because nothing interesting really happens in them. The only few exceptions being Jenny trying to unintentionally kill Tuck(which let's be real, should've happened) and Jenny punching a sausage because people won't stop making memes of it. It's a pretty good episode overall! As for your theory, it's a bit out there. Nora has no reason to commit property damage and quite a lot of people already know that she is Jenny's creator. So there's no real way of her getting away with it. It's like throwing your toaster at someone's head and expecting that you won't get arrested for it. But there's much better examples of Nora not being the nicest person around, like what she did to Vladimir and Jenny's sisters. I still respect your theory though! Anyways, here are two things that I would like to mention! 8:10 There's actually going to be an episode by the "Teenage Robot Rebooted" team where Jenny starts to become an epic gamer and starts to develop an addiction towards video games. It's called "Next Jen Console" and it's on their official website if your curious. I feel like it's going to be similar to this episode, but with a heavier focus on the "addiction" side. And finally, 14:30 🤨. Great video by the way! It's always nice to see people put this amount of effort for an old show like this!

Thank you very much for your well written comment! I agree that the addiction angle wasn’t clear to me when I first watched it, but on a rewatch I picked up on it immediately. It was such a pleasure for Alex to confirm that for us! I agree that the most memorable parts are within her dreams, and anything outside of that is probably remembered for crazy out of context moments. I wonder if Rebooted is still writing that episode. Those descriptions have been public for years now and I know the project was completely re-written not too long ago. I usually keep rebooted stuff out of my scripts because of the unpredictable nature of stuff like that. And for the Nora theory… it’s not completely serious, it’s just me having fun while writing, and when I can subconsciously alter the way some people view characters from the show (especially with Jeremy) I almost always go for it. With fan theories there’s almost always a way to BS around an argument. Like “she has nothing to gain” could turn into “if she made Armagedroid for the city, who’s to say she hasn’t made other industrial robots who are designed to fix the town up after incidents like this… at a cost…” It’s all in good fun, and I’m pretty sure in the upcoming “Tradeshow Showdown” video, I completely ignore this theory because there’s strong evidence against it at the end lol I think I have another Fanbase theory moment in next week’s video, but I can’t remember for sure, these videos have been ready for upload for months now!
