Exactly. That cheque is getting cut, you're getting a bill for anything that comes out of that lab. Anyone remember how good that Justin Timberlake CD with only Timberland beats on it. Notice you have not seen that shit happen again. It's too expensive to do. You can't afford a CD with only Dre or Timberland or NERD beats. You're not going to make any money. Unless you plan on spending two years on tour.
@tellmesomething2412
@tellmesomething2412 6 жыл бұрын
Not only that but people demand *singles* over a well crafted *album* nowadays. So, either you're an artist like *Drake* making subpar albums, but having enough "Hits" on a "Playlist," or you're a true artist laboring yourself to make an album full of compacted thoughts like *Kendrick.* So, you have to find the beat makers that's making the best beats for a lesser charge for *club bangers primarily.* Unfortunately, this is "Our" generation. *Some* artists can do both singles and make a great album really well (Something Kendrick has done to some degree with DAMN.), but it's rare.
@WelcomeToTheMadness
@WelcomeToTheMadness 6 жыл бұрын
The cost of the producer, multiplied by the lower returns on music is basically forcing people to learn to become producers. You think J.Cole, started making beats because it wasn't in his best financial interest? Unless he wants to continue to be a slave to label. Missy Elliott said it best," I went to dinner with the label heads thinking they are taking care of everything. That night out was a line item on a bill that took away from my budget. I was in the Lab, and didn't feel like doing anything. That booked time, came out of my budget." To be honest, it's just business. And right now, based on how music is consumed you're not really making any money on your song being played on the radio. Or over the streaming sites, if people actually looked at the breakdown of a song per play. Then take into consideration, that other people need to get paid out of that. It's a cold world out here. Aka you better be TOURING!

Em has had plenty of songs that stray away from his horrorcore style, back in his prime. Rock Bottom; Stan, White America, Sing For The Moment, Lose Yourself, Mockingbird, We As Americans, Mosh, Like Toy Soldiers, etc. Oddly enough, they were huge popular songs when they were released. But over the years, people have completely forgot about them, now they pretend as if Eminem has only ever rapped in his horrorcore style. Yes, that was probably a majority theme throughout his first several projects, but he had plenty of substance as well. People just forget about that and only remember his shock value.

I got to come clean Bad meet evil is how I got into Royce and slaughter house . I did hear that Royce -hip hop track which I thought was good but it didn't really follow him like that then . On a side note Slaughterhouse is or was so dope . I know what happen with Joe and I will say the group can't exist without Joe . Joe isn't a better rapper than any of his slaughter house bothers (they all can and have out rapped him) but he's a better artist than they are . He got the better ear . He got all the bad/weird artist things that most creatives have (he crazy! ). They all dope though . I like "No Panty" to.

My problem with Eminem is that he digressed as time went on. Whereas Tupac started off weak (honestly), but kept progressing into a better artist. I think Eminem can always produce an amazing flow and punchlines throughout, but so can Montana of 300. So why isn't Mo3 more famous? TBH King Iso has produced great albums and progressed each time, and can far exceed Em, but he hasn't. Why? Is it really because Eminem is white that he's so marketable? People say the jewish community runs the entertainment industry, is that why Drake is the best selling artist? IDK, but I do know it could correlates.

You can listen to that while having an orgasm and it's trash. And I like Eminem so I'm not just jumping on the bandwagon, it is what it is. Stan wouldn't have even played that shit in his ride.

Honestly, I'm not gonna say it's the worst album for me but it's not the best album either. It's just like any other album where I like a couple songs and a couple I don't really fuck with.
@Ryan-kb8ui
@Ryan-kb8ui 6 жыл бұрын
The Cliffton no, you're trying WAY too hard to like it. I get it, Eminem is your favorite, it's disappointing watching them fall off, it happened to me to, when they finally release that album that says, "alright, it's over", Cam'ron after Killah season, 50 cent after the massacre, and Eminem way back in 2004, I stopped listening to him a long time ago. Don't take the shit so personal, no one shines forever, let Em fall off and make room for a new one
@Ryan-kb8ui
@Ryan-kb8ui 6 жыл бұрын
The Cliffton true, I hear you, I'm just saying, I know the feeling, I remember listening to Cam'ron, who is probably my favorite rapper (mainstream rapper anyway), and listening to his later albums, so excited to listen to it, only to be disappointed, but, I had to try to like it, unlike his previous albums where every song was dope, just hit play and let the whole album go without hitting the skip button. All artists get old, and with old age, especially after they get comfortable and rich, they lose the hunger that made their first albums great in the first place. It happens to almost every artist. I hate it as much as you do, but it is what it is, Eminem's best hits will always be dope. But if you genuinely liked the new album, then power to you.

I believe he touched upon it early on in the interview that it's the fan base that like the slim shady stuff who would call him trash now. Even though there are many of them type of fans I strongly disagree, believe eminem is a artist who isn't afraid to take risks, experiment with different ways to rhyme, different styles, produce his own music and like an artist put it out there and say form your own opinion. And on him being stupid for not using more Dre beats, say if Dre does have a abundance of beats that he would allow him to choose from which we don't know for sure there is, he's a producer, how is he going to evolve as a producer if he just takes the easy hand out way. For some people making music is like painting a picture, you can paint something that makes people look sideways or you can play it safe and paint just a pretty picture that you know will sell but be quickly forgotten. Everyone's entitled to their own opinions and I respect the right of anyone to say I do or don't like this, it's the naivety which I find infuriating.

When Em produces his own shit, it fits perfectly to his rapping. I don't know how can people dismiss him as a producer. Mind you, he produced almost all of The Eminem Show (and imo that's his best album in the entire catalogue). Dre's beats also do it for him, but guys like Alex Da Kid, Just Blaze and some other are fucking up his shit. Half of those beats have a plastic-generic sound and it's fuckin' up the standard Em experience. As soon as he gets back to his own production, to Dre, Denaun, and Alchemist, that's when we'll get that classic we've all been waiting for. And I'm not saying he shouldn't experiment with new sounds and all that, just bring back the old crew and get on with it.

Vlad please have Daylyt back, he's an original artist (probably the original troll, as he said in another part of the interview) and no other rapper/emcee sounds like him. Once people get thru all the antics, there is a DOPE lyricist there. I enjoy his freedom to speak his mind in interviews and music, i dont think most people realize he's from Grape Street because he doesn't fit that "mold". Like i said i want more Daylyt interviews

Em talks about Rape negatively, killing his own fam , suicide , and being mentally unstable. he masks it with a few classics around them but he’s never been a rapper i looked up to. Em is lowkey trash but he is able to Make great music when his mind is right his messages are off and usually can’t relate to ppl. i don’t know what sick person could just tell u they finna rape u or a dog or some weird shit like that and it be passable for “good music” and be so vigorous in painting a sick picture. Milk is accurate. go listen to old Em..it’s literally you going “wait wtf” every few lyrics.

newmoney and i think u can’t read , he is ABLE to make classics. the majority of his music is not. u just named 2 songs nigga. You and Em are both on crack . Em has 6 memorable songs and one is about piping down mariah carey , he’s not nice , he just raps fast and says very disturbing shit. caterpillar is good , not afraid , stan, lose yourself , toy soldier, obsessed diss, then you have the weird shit slim shady considered a classic i guess then what lool. a lot of weird ass shit if it doesn’t feature someone. but that’s literally a handful of music. compared to Fif making WHOLE CLASSIC ALBUMS, Weezy, Cole - my nigga the second album i bought was Encore and that’s the hardest he ever was. Every other song of Eminem’s is just some fucked up shit you would feel uneasy listening to , and i don’t like to feel uneasy , i don’t think rape is a joke but to each is own u crackhead edit: saying Em isn’t nice is a L , but here’s another ..why tf is Max Kellerman corny ass rapping like EM years before he came out? go do ur research dude lool. (unrelated but hilarious)
