Hey friend, thanks for being concise. Is it confirmed that uniques will reroll before increasing? I've been buying perfrct widowhails, but if true I might as well just but the cheapest ones and vaal them

Yes. If I remember correctly, Waggle corrupted a low roll Widowhail in a video. The outcome was above regular rolls. That’s one example. I have personally had higher rolled uniques that got bellow regular rolls when I Vaal Orbed.

Can confirm I got a super low roll widowhail drop and after Vaal is now sitting at a very happy 270%

if you corrupt a gem for a chance at say a 5th socket. get unlucky and get -1. Can still level the gem. Can you negate the effect or will it always be -1 of whatever you level it to?

If you corrupt a skill gem and get the 4th socket, you can never make it a 5 socket right? Would you have to sell and restart?

Yes. You can't change a item when you have it is corrupted. Except for levelling skill gems with uncut gems. There is also a unique item called "Glimpse of Chaos" that have some unique ways of interacting with "Vaal Orbs". poe2db.tw/us/Glimpse_of_Chaos

vaaled my 20/20 5socket spark gem with omen of corruption active and ....nothing happened. just turned into 20/20 5 socket corrupted gem. wtf?

5 sockets in like, you can have 5 supports on the gem? If that's the case. The most likely thing that happened was that you got the +1 socket outcome and it already has 5 sockets, which is max, then it shows as nothing happens.

No! It’s locked. This might change in the future. In Poe 1 you can still anoint amulets, if you have a specific item…. And some other small things.

Yes. I know where you are coming from. But when corrupting in PoE 2 it does round up.

I corrupted a high physical bow before I increased the quality 😭but it gave me an extra socket, still decent 😕

Use the information as you want. I can't decide what's best for you in your situation. But yeah... When the item is "done" that,s when you "Vaal Orb" to have the chance of getting that little extra. Can also go to Brickcity, that's where I live.

The "Vaal Orb" is a currency item that you can find randomly while playing.
