Days after Aortic Aneurysm Surgery

How I feel Days after Aortic Aneurysm Surgery. A very intense couple of days in ICU and Cardiac Recovery Unit.
The most scary operation that lasted 5 hours in the Operating Room following 7 additional days in the hospital.
My chest was ripped open cutting open my Sternum and replacing my 5cm Aortic Aneurysm near my Aortic Root.
Talking to the surgeon afterwards he told me it was starting to dissect and my original surgery date a week later I wouldn't have made it.
I know cats have 9 lives but what do I have???

I am day 22 after open AAA surgery this month...I feel 90 years old energy wise.and so many sore muscles form not being able to work out for 6 months previously....BUT it is improving..I walk and walk and walk to the point i struggle to keep weight on..

Sorry to hear but being lean in weight is not necessary a negative. Walking so far is what has been recommended to me as well. It will get better. How big was the aneurysm? Just listen to what is recommended, eat healthy and don't overwork yourself.
