i really love this game but the story is far from fantastic. fantastic means freaking exceptional, a masterpiece. do you even know what the word means? the story is very LENGTHY and has great characters but that doesn't make it fantastic. don't confuse the two. as mentioned below, there are way too many plotholes and some of the twists and turns and revelations are just way too good (or you could say lazy) to be true. i'd say it has a slightly above average story but only because it is so long and some of the chars are really interesting. also, the world building is great. you definitely get a lot of story for the money, that's for sure

This game is in my all time top 5 hangin out with Witcher and Fallout 4- it's that good. I've replayed it around 5 times I think, I just love the horde mechanic, pure genius. My advice to new players is try to get 4 small hordes as early as possible, this will get you "Hordekiller". It's an end game weapon that you will never take out of your immediate inventory. It helps with taking out the larger groups in the beginning of the game when you have limited ammo and no RPD or Chopper.

Dude, I have watched you review lots of games with your friends...Jack Fraggs, Stoney and others. But, I have to say that nothing compares to your single player reviews. Your commentary, and the the emotion you share of your experience with these games is unique. I've played this game several times and, in my opinion, it's one of the best I've ever played. I'm a biker myself, so this game really strikes a chord with me. The only thing better than playing this game myself, is watching you play it, and listening to your remarks as you do so. Your accent, I think, might be a large part of it. Awesome accent, by the way. I'm in Winder, Georgia, not far from Stone Mountain, which I assume is where one of your friends is from. Every time I play one of the 'Sniper-Ghost Warrior' games, I imagine you as the voice of 'Control', instructing the protagonist on the next mission. You should consider playing a voice actor in a video game. I'm not trying to be a 'Fanboy', although I am a fan. You just have so much fun playing these games, and it shows. It's also contagious. I laugh right along with you. I have to hand it to you. You are a much better player than I am. But, I am 68 years old, and missing the use of my left eye, due to Glaucoma. I still play video games and I still ride my Harley. Being single has its perks. Excuse the long comment. I just wanted you to know how much fun it is to watch your version of a game review. Much success, my friend. Ignore the picture attached to my comment. I was 19 when that was taken.

That ending, chefs kiss. And yes Oregon and Washington look like this if you get away from major cities. Check out the town of Enterprise, Wallowa lake, and the Eagle cap wilderness area. Closest commercial Airport is in Boise Idaho, or Portland Oregon, about a 4 hour drive away. If you ride a motorcycle or like to drive for scenery, there is a 4 or 5 day loop to hit most of the diverse landscapes in the Pacific North West, including the continental divide and Yellowstone. The PNW has everything from thick forest mountains, expansive plains, painted canyon hills, desert flats, and my favorite majestic high altitude panoramic mountain range views that let you see hundreds of miles across the state.

A year back I had lost a lot of interest in video games but one night this game was on sale and It looked good but the main reason I got the game was because Sam Witwer is the lead and I’m a massive fan of star wars(used to be). That man is humble, passionate and just talented. Loved every minute of this game, the story, setting, gameplay etc. from what I’ve heard from friends is that many people didn’t want or get the game near launch cause it was a buggy mess(there were also many articles criticizing the rough biker protagonist) To me it looked like a walking dead game where you played as Daryl.

People always complain about the voice acting in this game but I don’t think people realize that Sam Witwer the guy who plays deacon is not a voice actor he is a real ACTOR so everything you see deacon do was done by Sam Witwer which means all of his movements and all of his lines, the reason deacon talks to himself is because he has no one and he is isolated, soldiers with PTSD also use that as a coping mechanism to keep themselves sane, people also complain about the story because they think every zombie game is super high octane and completely action packed but Days Gone was more of a Slow-Burn and it takes some time to start getting really interesting, there are 100 more things I can say about this game but the point is this game is super underrated and I think people need to give it a chance

1:30 At this position, always look on the minimap. If there is a cross indicating a lootable body, that means there's a wires across the road. Other very often spots for regular happenings are the bridge you crosseed just before that - if you have a question mark, there's a survivor with a marauder under the bridge. At Crazy Willie's, no matter from what side you come, srtop and check behind the dropped sign on the curb, if a guy is there, it's an ambush. After the tunnel you first pass on your way to Willie's at the start of the game, right at the sign, at the lake on the right, often Marauders with hostages. Other hostage points are the peer at the power plant in Cascade and the dirt road on the right side if you leave Lost Lake through the marsh. Very often you will find a sniper ambush on the truck above Marion Forks not too far from the building you find Sara in. And the last thing that comes to mind is the gas station at lost like, like with the Ripper ambush, cross indicates wire.

They literally messed up with this Underrated gem, its needs a sequel so badly. The storyline aspect that O' Brian tells Deacon, that NERO is coming, is an untold story and uncharted waters, worth exploring. Possibly everything boiling down to Deacon, Lost Lake and all the allies he can find, taking on the assholes who bio-engineered it. Last mission being Deacon facing out the final boss, the person who began it all, only for a horde to break in, Deacon somehow managing to get away to safety and watches on as the Freakers find a small redemption and feed on the person who started it all. Full Circle.

Man…. The only thing I always keep wanting is *Days Gone 2* …….. IT HAS TO HAPPEN!!! Days Gone 2 just has to happen. It is truly an underrated game and I don’t get why all the hate. I came into this game with zero expectations and it totally delivered. It was one of the rare games that I could play and say ‘This has never been done before’. I don’t get that with a lot of other games as they sometimes feel like there are elements which have been taken from other games or rinse and repeat scenarios, however this was furthest from the truth when it came to Days Gone. The hordes, the music, the terrifying situations….. man its just a total shame how the game didn’t end up getting the credit it deserves. Ive been hoping for a Days Gone Directors Cut for PS5 like they did with Ghost of Tsushima and Death stranding too but sadly it seems they won’t bother. Days Gone 2 *HAS* to happen, it just has to.

Because initially everyone hated it, and I felt like me and a few of my friends were the only ones who actually loved it! So it’s cool people are starting to realize the game is a true gem!

I really enjoy watching you play this. The only thing that bothers me is the janky run animation where Deacon is kicking himself in the butt with his heels. :D

Glad you included the song at the end. This game has some incredible songs. Kinda wish it had more. And yes Oregon and Washington are that beautiful.

The Patjens Lake horde is 100 freaks strong, and is one of the biggest hordes you encounter in the early game. You did really well to take it out with the resources you had at the time.
