I was taking out a small camp with about 10 drifters in it. Was marking, thinking about how to handle the situation. Saw a horde approaching across the river. I tossed an attractor in between the camp and the hoard. The horde went to investigate and the camp went to investigate. About that time I realized that one of the humans that I didn't see and was unmarked walked up beside where I was hiding and started shooting the horde with his pistol. The horde steam rolled him and then just about killed me. I ran through the camp getting shot at with the horde hot on my heels. The camp stopped fighting me and started fighting the horde so I slipped into the shadows and let them rip each other apart. Then I finished off the horde. Boy I love this game.

I actually did the same thing on accident. I was placing mines to kill most of the horde, but turned out I didn’t place them far enough away from each other, so the others exploded without taking out enough that I could handle with the equipment I had. I tried going back to my bike, but I saw a bruiser near it, so I just ran while taking brief time to shoot for my stamina to go back up. After a few minutes, I just hear Decon talk about a bandit camp and saw smoke, and as you can tell I just ran into it to try to kill two birds with one stone. I thought I was in the clear until I stepped in a bear trap and the horde caught up.

The critics got this one wrong. I think most reviewed it based on the first few hours which are admittedly slow and less interesting. It’s got more bugs than most Sony first party games, but once it gets going, there isn’t much like it. It definitely deserved better.

What's really freaky about this tactic is if you get the horde to the camp and then kill the horde (from the little hut at the entrance) in the camp, afterwards, if you check your freaker ears count, you won't have the number of ears that match the number of freakers. The truly weird thing is if you go back to the horde nest they are back - ALL OF THEM. It's as though they never followed you and you never killed them all already. So very strange.

This games AI is phenomenal, the first time I saw a horde I freaked out. I knew they existed but after 5 hours of gameplay I hadn’t seen one until I was clearing out a camp and tripped some cans, I was worried about the humans hearing it but I turned around to a wave of zombies rushing at me

This was awesome. Leading hordes to enemy camps never gets old. It's too much fun. The funny thing with ripper camps is that just one single freaker is enuf to wipe em all out since all they do is worship they freaks and won't actually kill them 😂

This is my favorite way to deal with ambushers/marauders/rippers. Done this so many times. Way quicker to just shoot them all but seeing them get eaten alive after how annoying they can be is so satisfying. The trick is to lure the horde into them and transition to stealth as the horde becomes distracted. Then the horde will finish killing them and slowly walk away, allowing you to loot the area.

You have to be close enough to the horde or most of them will stop chasing you and try it on survival difficulty as they becomes more aggressive

No way, i did this with the cave horde on one of the big camps you have to clear, it started with like 20 enemies and the number just started rapidly falling on my screen, seriously satisfying 😂

You notice they do atack camps because there is a camp with a horde right above it(they are inside the caves), i just tossed some trail of atractors and they end up triggering all the traps + wiping the camp for me while i watched from afar.

Just for giggles I led that horde all the way back to Iron Mike's camp a couple of days ago, 2KM with a horde on my back, picked up two more along the way. I use hordes to take out enemy camps all the time on there, occasionally I've managed it without ever firing a shot.

@@tesone6783 Normally the horde disappears when you cross the threshold that causes you to not be able to pull your weapons in a camp, the normal zombies do not. The one exception I've seen is when you're coming back with a drunk Boozer on the bike being chased, if you go slow enough *that* horde will follow you to the bridge and go under it, come around between the kitchen and the guard tower and the game gets stuck.

@@tesone6783 Just started my 3rd run, NG+ survival this time. I highly recommend it. Totally different game. I'm fairly well armed and the game actually spooks me like it did on the first play through. I'm sticking with a crossbow as a special weapon until I advance to the point in the story where I should have a bigger gun. I play with 3 hordes at a time south of Wizard Island, survival is a whole different thing.

Awesome gameplay, much better than me. I do find that when I play, that as soon as a zombie gets close, my current selected gun defaults to a melee weapon. I can get about one hit in before I'm swarmed.

Not sure if you’re on console or not, but there’s no hip fire in this game. So if you press right trigger, without pressing the left trigger first (to aim) then you’ll end up pulling out your melee weapon. Maybe you’re pressing your fire button too quickly? That’s weird though, I’ve never encountered that issue. Best of luck figuring out the resolution.

This was my strats whenever I run out of ammo or if I'm not confident to take 'em out yet (like in the early parts) just lead em in a camp. But I really like how you can ramp up the horde count in the PC tho. I played this on PS4, but man does the PC version look and play this good with mods

what the hell is this even supposed to say? I am seriously lost in this jumble of random words cobbled together by accident. The game got meh reviews because, despite its decent premise and fun game mechanics, the mission design in this game utterly sucks for the most part and the story and the characters in it are barely passable. Don't get me wrong: I love playing Days Gone, but whenever there's dialogue or I have to travel across the complete map to watch a cringy cut scene, I understand why there's no sequel.

There is a patch where you can make Deacon a black lesbian with down syndrome. It solves all the issues with the game and allows Liberals to feel comfortable playing it.
