Absolutely feel the simple life chat! We are the same age and I have recently moved to the country with my partner and my dogs and leading my mundane, simple, cosy life is so fulfilling. I watched your content in NYC and I watch it even more so now. I think your transition is one that most people go through as they get older, get married, have kids etc. I find your demeanour much more relaxing and happy since this transition and look for your videos for that factor alone. I have been watching your videos for about a year now! You are by far my favorite channel and I never miss a video!! Around Christmas, I missed this video and never went back and watched it. But this morning as I was getting ready, I decided to watch it and I know God knew that I needed it now. I'm home from college for the break and have felt so happy being home and uneasy moving back. In college, there is so much pressure to live such a fast-paced life and it's been so overwhelming. After this, I'm headed back with the peace and confidence that I will still make life-long memories with my friends and look back at these years with happiness, but I don't have to feel like I need to be doing more to have that. Basically, all of this is just to say thank you. Thank you for pushing me to realize that simple is okay. Keep doing you- I love your channel!

When I was growing up in Argentina, we left the tree until January 6th because of the Reyes Magos. The tradition was to leave some grass and water (for the camels 😀) next to your shoes, near the door. So the next morning you would wake up and the grass and water was gone and “they” would leave presents instead. So technically we received presents on Christmas and Reyes Magos. At least that was the tradition we had.

Hi, Michelle! I just wanted to thank you for this video and your heart. I’m a relatively new follower (in the last year) and really enjoy these “days in my life” videos. You are so right-the simple, “normal” life brings so much joy. You’ve helped me embrace that. Also, we leave our tree up to January 6, which is Epiphany (when the three wise men arrived), and it’s a Protestant tradition as well! The twelve days of Christmas last Dec 25-Jan 5 so we keep all our decor up until then. I also got a JBL for Christmas! I’m excited for it to move around the house with me this year. I appreciated that chat! Although I enjoy seeing the New York life style bc it’s so different from mine, I am so content to live simply. My husband and I got married at 18 and have been married for 12 years now! He works, I stay home with our daughter and homeschool her, when he gets home I cook and we sit together as a family for dinner every night! We live a “slow” “normal” life and I wouldn’t have it any other way! I’m glad you are enjoying married life and are happy!

That message about living a simple life really spoke to me. I'm in a transitional period in my life where I'm unemployed and living with my parents, and I really don't know where I'm going next. So I see other people living "better" lives and it makes me feel like I'm not living up to how everyone else appears to be. I definitely know this time won't last forever (though right now it sure feels like it will). I don't want a glamorous life at all - I just want a life where I have a good job, a decent place to live, and a loving community. Living simply is all I want and I'm trying not to get caught up in the idea that I need to have my whole life figured out yet.

I like your talk about a simple life :-) even tho I am not watching as much of your videos as I used to tbh, but just so you know it has nothing to do with you not being in NYC anymore. It’s just that I enjoy watching « 9-5 work » days / weeks in my life simply because they’re relatable for me. It doesn’t mean you shouldn’t do what makes you happy. i always remember you saying in college that you may be happier in TX than NYC but you knew NYC was where you “wanted” to be in your 20s for various reasons... i totally get that. and i think now with everything in 2020 we realize being back home is actually... cool? i was supposed to be in downtown LA in law school and now i’m back at home where i haven’t lived since high school.. but my life is so much calmer here and more supportive than maybe it would have been in LA this year. go us for taking it in stride :)

Same. 2020 definitely taught us that being home is cool! I quit my DC job and moved back home this year and I love it so much more. It's a little bit of security and safety in a year that is strange and unpredictable.
