Hats off to all the Polish people! You guys have an amazing ability of pronouncing words with consonants not separated by vowels at all...Wt, Dz, Cz, Scz etc...whenever I try to pronounce these syllables I start fumbling every time😂😂😂

ItsEwelina it is, and with so much Vodka! And so much dancing, it never stops all weekend! I love it so much :) Weddings in England are boring in comparison! I want to ask if you would consider doing a video on the months in Polish in the future? I struggle to remember those :/

In Hungarian, we took the days of the week from the Slavic tribes around us, except for Sunday. We used to have the weekly fair on Sunday, that's why we call it "vasárnap" (vasár=>vásár=>fair). Monday and Tuesday were directly translated, Monday is "hétfő" in Hungarian, which means "head of the week". Tuesday is "kedd", which means the next one, so wtorek (utorok (SK), вторник (RU)) was directly translated. Wednesday is directly taken from the Slavic languages, it was not even translated. We say "szerda", Russian says "среда", Slovak says "streda", Croatian says "srijeda". Thursday is even more obvious that it is a Slavic word, we say "csütörtök", in Polish, it is "czwartek", in Czech it is "čtvrtek", in Serbian it is "четвртак". Friday comes from the Greek, but with Slavic interpretation. We say "péntek", Czech says "pátek", Croatian says "petak", Slovene says "petek".
@helenatokarska83643 жыл бұрын
Actually pentek also comes from a very old slavic, in Polish we say piątek (pion-tek). Gosh, id like to learn hungarian, but is rather hard for me.

ItsEwelina thanks for all your videos! I'm trying to learn the basics of polish just so that I can talk more comfortably with my older coworkers. They get so excited when I speak to them everything you've taught in your videos so far. It's easier for me so learn because it's a lot like Spanish which I speak fluently because I'm Mexican. Anyway, you should do a video on polish culture. What it's like living in Poland and what are traditional foods and things like that 😏
