Update 23/03/2020 - This lap is OK but definite improvements can be made in several sections. I haven't really driven a Sodi round here unweighted in years so I will try and get in one again by the end of 2020. I will record a better driven lap.

Awesome lap and time! Great skills. Is there a particular reason why on all your videos you have a red kart (since there are half blue too) or just a coincidence?

At the time of this video, there were no blue karts as this was the old design/colour scheme they had! It is just coincidence :) My previous best was set in a black kart (Kart 1). The video you're watching now was in Kart 11 - but I've managed to get 68 second laps in pretty much all the karts I've sat in (the ones I didn't was when I wasn't as good :P) ! And thank you very much! :)

I imagined that....skills skills skills. I guess I'm as slow as you was when you say "you wasn't good". I did 70.44 two days ago...and would really like to go under 70. I know practice is a good answer....but would you have some particular tips? I recently moved to a dirtier driving than I used to and I guess it's really about finding the right balance without losing too much but still scrubbing speed in the entry instead of braking. But I noticed that you always go full lock before the apexes...did you notice some particular changes in your driving style while improving or just practice and practice?

Of course the more you practice the more you get the hang of things, that's how I improved a lot in 2015 compared to 2014. However I improved even more in 2016 compared with 2015 as I changed my thought of mind. I focused a lot more on lines and momentum. With lines, it's always important to use as much as the track to your advantage, and when I say use as much track as possible, I mean as much track as possible! That in return helped with momentum, keeping good speeds through the corners always shaves tenths and gives you better exit speeds. We're coming up soon for this video being 1 year old, and I have learnt even more about this track and how to go even quicker so would love to give this another go... The main areas in this video I screwed up on, was the last corner, and the very fast left hander towards the end of the lap. There are some areas which could be tweaked, but corners like turn 6 I can't really nail anymore than that haha. With sodi karts you get a lot of understeer hence why you may see me go full lock as these karts like to go straight! With turns 2, 3 and 4 being quite tight and slow corners, you really want to focus on getting the best exits you can without oversteering/losing time. Some corners you want to be super smooth, this goes for Turn 1, the last hander down the back of the track and the fast left hander towards the end of the lap. Also the last corner should be taken very smooth (and much better than how I did it!). Notice with the last corner how I come across all the way to the edge of the pitlane before throwing it into the corner. It's having a mindset like that and taking corners like that which will result in better laptimes. There are obviously some very tricky corners on this track, the corner leading to the long straight and Turn 6 being an example. It really is just about gaining confidence to take those corners as fast you can but under control; if you find yourself having to save the kart from losing it, you need to turn it down a notch and gradually push it more and more. Being smooth through difficult corners will help. Hope some of that helps! I also hope to go to MK again soon to see how I get on now!

I drive a lot up daytona mainly dmax but don't the sodis once. I've got a race later today which is sodis and was wondering if you had some tips. I get 1.06s in dmax but it seems everyone fast in sodis seem to flick and drift round the corners? looks like you do that too? any tips would be great full would like to get into 1.09 later as weather nice

I'm currently at Buckmore today, so unable to write out tips til I get back, but my advice for now would be to watch my MK videos carefully and try and replicate what you see, good luck! Weather is on your side 😉
