Daytona USA 2001 - Seaside Street Galaxy (Expert Stage)

Some gameplay on the Sega Dreamcast version of Daytona USA 2001 played on DEMUL. I unintentionally set the number of cars on the track from the default 30 to 20, in my brain I was confusing the number of cars you normally get on this stage with the amount you get on the Advanced stage.

On the second lap i like to use the pit lane as a shortcut. reduces the amount of time needed to complete a lap and less risk of bumping into some random wall

I do try that sometimes, but there is that slight risk that if you're positioning is slightly out that you might accidentally pit in.

@@MrThunderwing That's actually never happened. On the second lap in seaside, the pit lane is broken. No matter which angle i take, I never pit in.

pitlane is actually disabled on the last lap of every track so it's not actually broken. just seaside's weird decision to have the pit lane on the beginning instead of near the end

This Race Course is similar to 1994 Edition.

Yeah... that's because it's the same course. Apart from the fact it's being rendered using a different graphics engine, it's identical to the Model 2 version (aside from the fact I've used a secret option to change the blue blue skies to sunset).

Yeah, I don't know if that's a DEMUL thing or something to do with the game itself, it comes out with 4:3 screen looking a smidge too narrow.

@@MrThunderwing I personally use Redream. Even Sonic Adventure runs heavenly on my bargain bin laptop

@@MrThunderwing probably it's the non-resized 640x480 output (or aspect), which normally would be resized to 720x480....

@@nattila7713 IIRC the game does display slightly oddly. I did some actual Dreamcast capture of the game awhile back and it had these black vertical bars either side of it in the video capture.

@@onyxx300_ I've just started using Flycast now. Makes the game looks so much better with some upscaling magic going on, plus it also puts it into widescreen.
