Dayvan Cowboy - Piano Cover (Boards of Canada)

Some dodgy video editing, questionable sound quality - but here it is, Dayvan cowboy, with all harmonic and melodic parts arranged. This was surprisingly hard, as the key (F#) and song is mostly played on the black keys, which are of course smaller making it harder to deal with the various parts precisely. I'm sure the Sandison brothers don't have to worry about that sort of thing when they're making this music! Actually they use interesting keys quite consistently. I hope you enjoy it.

Instead of doing the triplets, couldn't you just roll the chord like the original guitar? Not a criticism, I think what you've done is lovely, just curious how it would sound.

Dude I suck at piano and would kill to learn my favourite song. If you could record this in a way to better show how to play I'd be eternally grateful. This is the best composition of Dayvan Cowboy on piano I have seen and I have sporadically been looking for a satisfactpry cover of this for years. What a great video.

Thanks very very much. Piano sheet IS useless, this "pianovision" show you the feel of the song. The song IS mainly 4 chords: F# - A - E - B A subtle variation with a Eb (or maybe a chord inversion) and you've got it. Free your mind, your fingers will follow. Anyway, thanks for sharing

@@shellypooper Yeah, but BoC are very deliberate with their sound degradation methods, while this sounds like extreme clipping due to some mic problem or something, they would have never use this in their music

Walking into work, jamming BoC on the headphones as one does, and finally had the thought of arranging tracks for piano, or string quartet (which is actually my wheelhouse). I am so glad that that wasn't an original thought. You killed it and absolutely nailed the arrangement dude. Bravo. I don't give a damn about the sound quality, I understand why you do and where you are coming from on that. Just get the sheet music out to the public and make more arrangements and publish more sheet music.
