@@GamerMistakes I know more of the lore if you wanna know, essentially in the ARMA III contact dlc, it is states the aliens are causing an unknown infection, additionally in the Livonia and sakhal map, the alien tendrils are found in caves and bunkers around each respective map (the tendrils being alien ships that lie dormant under the ground and the tendrils are what keeps them stable.) Basically from what I can gather the aliens have connections to the actual infection, being the ones who caused it

DayZ is a game about meeting random people and going on an adventure. Ive got around 3K hours on it so far and it rarely gets boring. Learning the map, locations for fights, finding new friends and seeing how far you can get and how many other survivors you can hunt is a huge draw. If you play alone, dont look for other players to interact with its gunna be a garbage game. You make your own fun in dayz, there are no restrictions on how u can play and thats what makes it appealing. Sometimes im a pacifist farmer, sometimes im a psycho cannibal. I have hundreds of great stories and interactions that I would never get in any other game I have ever played. Getting separated in the dark in a gun fight and trying to find each other while avoiding agro zombies is intense and hilarious. Plenty of people wont like the playstyle and that is fine, but I find most that dont simply treated it as an intense shooter game. There is no prestige, there is no score board, nobody will know if u live or die, thats what makes it exciting. I love knowing I may never meet a person again that I met, there is no friend list, there is no name above their heads. I can be anyone in dayz and make every single run different and exciting for myself. Ive had hours where i met nobody and then BAM you run into a 3 man group cooking fish in the middle of the woods and suddenly all hell breaks loose! Zombies are scarce on purpose, they are more of a way to determine things like if other players are around and to fuck you when u try to sneak up on people. Zombies are terrifying when ur trying to sneak out the back of a house and not get spotted by a geared player, then u hear the zombie scream at you and you know ur position is is compromised. Or the opposite, suddenly the geared guy has to deal with a zombie and gives u a chance to take him out with your rusty P1 with a single bullet. Its not a zombie hoard game, there are just enough to get you into trouble or let you gain an advantage in combat. If you get sniped a lot that is part of the learning curve. Learn where ppl like to snipe, avoid those areas, circle around and hunt the hunters. This is one of the most player driven games out there, you get what you put into the game. If you no mic and just run around killing on sight you might not get much fun out of it. If you put yourself out there though it can be a great time though. Good video, it was funny and I would love to run into you in game. LOL

@@mcspoonz Well that's mostly because there is almost no one left at Bohemia working on DayZ after the departure of Dean Hall (the creator of the game) in 2014 and Brian Hicks in 2018.. It is already a miracle that the game is still updated. There was also another map that was released in 2019. Your video was entertaining and funny but you should have done more research on the game cuz saying that the game is almost the same as in 2013 is a lie. The mods and the community saved the game tho.

That's pretty piss poor work in the grand scheme of things, especially for a $50 game, and then also having to pay for the update on top of that! Instead, we get a paid DLC in the disguise of an "update."

I love this game. Spent a year of my life going from randomly meeting a dude at a safe zone, to being a fresh recruit in a faction for one of the (at the time, not anymore) most popular console modded servers, to the leader of said faction. The server switched hands and fell off hard so everyone moved on, but man that was a blast. PVP against large factions at a modded NWAF was so much fun.

If you are new and buy dayz I would agree that 1st person is the way to go. oh and check out community servers, people WILL still try to kill you on sight but your chances of meeting up with and going on long adventures with other freshies will be increased. I got the game and didn't really like it at first since I had no idea what I was doing, causing me to drop it for a long time. Recently I watched a few tutorials on how to get a good start and I've finally been able to have fun while playing. The only problems I really have with it now, is that players tend to kill you if you don't have a mic to respond with and that it crashes a lot due to "unstable connection", also known as medium to high player counts.

The game was marketed as a zombie survival game with permadeath elements. But what we got was basically RUST with a couple of zombies sprinkled in by Scrooge McDuck himself. There's a game for everyone out there, this one... unfortunately isn't for me. I don't find satisfaction in having my hard work destroyed by a random player more geared up than me, who sniped me from hundreds of meters away behind a tree while I was contemplating on whether or not I should enter a building due to worrying about the non-existant zombies in the building. $50 is too much for DayZ? Whaat? You have 500 hours shown in your video. It's pretty common for many DayZ players to have several thousand hours (check the reviews). What other game are you comparing it to for $50? People don't play Zomboids nearly as long.

seeing a game I remember seeing when I was 9 almost the same price as a AAA game (I'm 20 now) kinda turned me off at first, I just got a key from a site :P

I also wanted to say, it's been over 10 years, not many games receive dev support this far down the line, but they still crank out monthly updates and even have a new DLC map dropping soon. Also that 50 bucks now gets you both the cherno AND Livonia map :D

I have spent a lot of time in the mod back in the days and I got 3400 in the Standalone and that in mostly vanilla. I love this game but to be fair, long attention span. I am patient as heck. I love getting into encounters in this game, it is amazing. Paranoid meeting someone new but it turns into friendship. Some end up betraying. Others shoot right away. Love it! Though modded DayZ is not the golden state for me personally. BUT it is where the majority of the player base. And compared to 7 years ago, a lot has been added, not only chickens and bears lol. And I think 50 bucks for DayZ ( and no including Livonia ) is a fair price. How I usually dictate a fair price is - If money paid 50 = hours played 50. It is worth it. :D Nice little review though!

I have almost 10k hours and this game still gets my heart pounding. This game is the equivalent to a great book or something of the like, you always wanna know what’s gonna happen next. DayZ will fry your immune system from how much anxiety it will give you in the best of ways. Also $50 is not too much I’ve seen people no life this game more than any other game ive played and I’ve been playing video games for over 20 years

3:10 maybe its my brain but i feel like they were able to load more zombies onto the server since the frostline update. The small town my squad would homebase at was nearly empty of zombies before, now theyre an actual threat in our tiny mountain town
