Dr Dre dj quick greatest producers from that side of the waters, but there's nothing original what dr dre has done,he needs to give the flowers people give him to George Clinton,as he is the master genius who created the p funk, which dre turned into the g funk, and the rest is history, taking samples from the funk and the old soul classics which is what all great hip hop producers have always done, its what makes hip hop a timeless music genre, take puff daddy greatest hits with biggie smalls life after death album,Isley brothers classic hit between the sheets, sky is the limit etc, that's why those songs blew up the way that they did,I love dr dre and puff productions as am a child of the funk, just like most people in our 50s now,and that's why those two have had the most success, but there are some other producers who are in there own league and have changed hip hop such as dj premiere,hi teck, quest love, public enemy producer, but then enters the rza and kanye west, and they took it to a complete different level, and away from that crap that timberland was doing, terror squad producer also needs to be mentioned in the same breath as these producers, and a special mention to a producer, who keeps going under the radar as a game changing producer is stic man from dead prez, and while am on that track shout out to one shot deal producer and bink who was the producers on the legendary lost boyz albums

Truthfully, I've always preferred Quik's production over Dre's. He's made classic albums just like Dre, and produced classic songs for other artists. Now why isn't he held in the same high regards as Dre? Well for one he didn't have the machine him. Two, even though his music may be sonically as good as Dre's, was it groundbreaking or did it change/shift the culture like the NWA movement or The Chronic? Dre has turned people into superstars. He was the mastermind behind the FIRST gangsta rap group, and he introduced the world to Snoop, Eve, Eminem, The Game, Daz, Kendrick, and many more. That's just my two cents
