So useful to know the tip about the hidden menu option to uncheck the image maps whilst saving the Material Preset! That info alone was great in addition to the main content of the video! 👍😀

Good tutorial. I'm coming back to watch it again for a second time months after watching it the first time, since I was working on a figure's material settings and forgot some of the tips. But viewing it again reminded me: The only problem I saw with the tutorial is doing the lips separately isn't always a good idea. Why? Because not every vendor's materials line up perfectly, so you can get odd "lines" around the mouth where the settings are obviously different (and more obvious in close ups, but I've had issues even with more distant shots), where the area around the lips is clearly different from the rest of the skin. Usually it's a small area, but the human eye picks it up. So I *tend* to change my surface settings for the skin and lips at the same time to insure everything matches up. Great tutorials here tho! That's why I'm back!

@@ParmyBaddhan Cool that somebody already suggested this as well. I also wanted to suggest doing a udemy course. But if you do it, please do it well :D There are tooo many bad,unstructured, course materials missing etc. courses on udemy. One of my favorite courses, that I have purchased is this one. Take a look. It may be interesting for you as well: www.udemy.com/course/davinci-resolve-15-course/learn/lecture/11930612?start=60#overview It's a resolve video editing course. I have been using premiere pro for about 4 years to edit my videos, but the constand bugs etc. really made me switch to resolve. It is amazing! What are you using to edit your videos? Do yourself a favor and check out resolve if you don't use it already :)

I have the same light, but really don't understand all those arrows, options and totally don't know what to do with it. I bought the merchants tutorials, but again way to difficult. If you have the timecan you explain the light pack in noob language? And I like to know how to make cool light for darker characters. Thank you for the video.
@ParmyBaddhan2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for taking the time to leave a comment. I would highly recommend learning how to use HDRI's and the built in sun/sky Iray environment to understand the basic concepts of lighting. This will give you the knowledge to understand how the light presets in the video work.

What do I need to have for my renders to be previewed as fast as yours? Is it the video card?
@ParmyBaddhan4 жыл бұрын
It is down to the graphics card and how many items you have in your scene. The graphics card that I have is an Asus 8GB Nvidia GTX 1070ti.
@deviantluis4 жыл бұрын
@@ParmyBaddhan Thanks! Wow that's crazy.. I also have an ASUS nvidia GeForce of 8 GB GTX 1070 but even when there is just one character in the scene and no background it takes forever to render even just a preview.. makes my workflow very slow. Maybe it is something else I have to upgrade

None of those options are available for the skin I am using.
@HanSolocambo4 жыл бұрын
Probably because you didn't choose the iRay materials for your character. These surface options are not "available for the skin I'm using" or not. They are surface options that can be used the way Parmy showed you, on any texure. Doesn't matter if it's a cube, an airplane, a skin, etc.
