About to try this out now. Interesting to to compare with the Diffeomorphic importer. The Diffeomorphic importer can import saved poses but right now I can't get it to import facial animation from facemotion. Interested to see if this method does.

Hi Solomon,thank you for the tutorial! I successfully use this method when animating manually(creating keyframes in the Timeline tab) . But, the animation doesn't get imported into blender when I try adding from the animation "presets" from the SmartContent tab (the preset shows up in the aniMate2 tab, as a block, but not as keyframes in the Timeline tab). Any ideas? Or workarounds? Thank you!

The problem I’m having with Daz to Blender animation is that with the workflow, it takes me so long to fix the materials in Blender to look as good as in Daz iray, that it negates the faster render time of Blender completely. I’d rather just turn Daz on rendering in the background and my animation will likely be finished before I’ve re-done all the materials and rendered in Blender. I find I need to do all the steps every time, for every import and animation and it’s just too tedious so I only render in Blender if using features not available in Daz like animated glows or video textures.

Daz's skins and materials in Blender look very ugly, especially the skins. To this day I have never seen anyone achieve a good result. If it's a character you use all the time, it would be worth doing the process and saving. But so far it seems that such a process does not exist.

@@SolomonJagwe I believe so. I updated the bridge plug in and Daz through the Daz central software as soon as I saw this video. I was so excited to see this work. I create a character and imported exactly as seen in the video. The key frames appear to be there when I import it to blender. And everything looks just as it does in your video. If you are seeing black chunks at the ends you need to change the alpha settings in the hair shader node options. And adding a subsurface modifier will help too. There is also an add on someone posted in the Daz forum that will change it to particle generate hair which will look better.

The animation portion of the import was not working for me but I found the problem. Animation clips from Daz library wont import to Blender with the figure. But if you create an animation from scratch, the animation WILL import to Blender with the figure. Library files wont work presently I guess.
@SolomonJagwe3 жыл бұрын
The animation clip I used was from the animation library, I got the animation from Daz3D Marketplace. Which animation library were you working with?
@seanmckee95533 жыл бұрын
@@SolomonJagwe I was using the animation clips from the library in Daz3D. Smart Content Tab/Animation Tab. Some reason when I use those, the would not export with the model. But then I tried animating the characters limbs and facial expressions by hand, it would export with the model. Perhaps I am missing something. Maybe I have to convert the keys when I use an animation clip? I dunno!
