Here's how I got it. I was in second grade and I was at a friends house and my friend wanted to watch annabelle. I saw the cover of the movie and started crying so hard and I had to sleep in my parents bed that night. I would not touch or go near a doll (mainly American Girl dolls bc I had 3) for at least 2 years. I couldn't have them in my room they had to stay in my sisters room. *UPDATE ON FELICITY* I went down a wild rabbit hole after this video to get more answers, and the results are…sad. So, Felicity was adopted and the reason why she got the doll is because after her mom died of cancer, her father did it to help her feel better. Then, her dad died at 16, and it was then that she fell in love with Kelly. She moved back in with her bio family and emotional abuse ensued. She moved in with someone who wanted her to be a surrogate mother, but she was also emotionally abusive and would pretend to be her dead father. After she decided not to give birth for that family, she was homeless and had to move into a shelter. As for Kelly looking like a kid, she recently stated that it didn’t bother her, but soon became suicidal and even tore Kelly apart in a fit of rage. She later contacted the creator of the doll to have Kelly’s appearance updated. So, she now looks more like a woman and less rotting and disgusting. However, she is still missing a jaw. Now, she is happily married with Kelly and has a 6ft tall alien boyfriend named Roger and 7 doll kids. In an interview with the Sun, when they asked if she was with the dolls to simulate a family in lieu of not having a human family to depend on she said “I don’t know.” She said that her dolls give her stability and makes her happy. I feel so sad for her. I think something awful happened when she was a kid (hopefully not. Hopefully, she’s just weird) and in order to cope and function we have her as she is now. my personal opinion when it comes to this, it could be a ball named Wilson for all I care. I think it can be detrimental to ones mental health to become so emotionally attached to something genuinely incapable of showing any form emotional attachment in return. to personify something inanimate and become dependent on the relationship ones crafted with said object is simply unhealthy when the world is full of real live living things capable of displaying affection in return. I think this sort of thing can cause one to viscously lose their grip on reality, and is something one should speak with a professional mental health expert with before something like that happens.
