I love joey! I've battled mental illness my entire life, especially ocd. So Joey's always been a hero to me and was someone to relate to as a teenager. The ramones really helped me get through high-school and gave me away to escape my reality of being a weird kid. Thank you for this video!!!

I left that white guitar pick on the top of the headstone, between the H and the Y in Hyman, about a month and a half ago. Joey is a personal hero of mine, and the Ramones were the soundtrack of my teenage years and are still my all-time favorite band, so visiting Joey’s final resting place and paying my respects was a true honor. On that same trip, I bought a super rare Mosrite Johnny Ramone Signature Model guitar, early 2000s model with Johnny’s signature on the headstock, in Long Island. I have a picture of me with the guitar on my knee at the grave, and plan to have it framed. It was an emotional weekend.

Hi Bernard I'm from the uk and first time I ever heard/saw The Ramones was on Old Grey Whistle Test where they ran an old 40s vintage film clip to Rockaway Beach...loved it..then tried to get hold of anything I could by them..couple of years ago my girlfriends daughter was wearing a Ramones T shirt and I said to her "great..you are listening to one of my fave punk bands"..to which she said "I've never heard them..the T shirt was just a fashion statement " I remember feeling "is this what kids do now? They just wear the gear and not give a hoot about the music" ..really sad reflection on the shallow society we now live in!

As a past time I study classic rock bands. Growing up in the 80s. I knew some of the Romones stories - and of course many of them from Bono. I saw them in 2001 Elevation Tour ( a bucket list for sure in the heart ) Bono did the tribute to Joey. I actually cried. It was very moving. He was a big fan of Joey! I loved the history you gave here! Just new to your channel! Look forward to more! 😎❤️🎸

The Ramones were such an awesome band and there will never be another one like them. I've watched their movie, Rock and Roll High School, a number of times through the years. It's so bad, it's good. Thanks for visiting Joey's grave. Not only will there never be another band like the Ramones, but there will never be another Joey.

Hello Jordan. Great video again. It's unfortunate that all the Ramones have passed. Tommy passed in 2014, Johnny passed in the 2004, DeeDee in 2002. Actually Tommy's replacement is the only Ramone still living. That would be Marky Ramone. Who was first featured on the Road To Ruin Album. He currently resides in New York and is the last surving Ramone currently 69 years old.

Joey Ramone is my favorite Ramone, just loved them, such a special way they played, still listen to them whenever I can, they rock. “ I wanna be sedated” is my fav, the day we lost Joey was a very sad day, gone but never forgotten will always live in my heart ❤️Loved that “freak” RIP Ty Jordan for showing such respect for the Ramones who will live on forevermore

This was brilliant Jordan! Love the Ramones, have all their music and always had a soft spot for Joey (Jeff). It couldn't have been easy being him, struggling with his OCD, so standing up before an audience and being the lead vocalist was incredibly gutsy. I listen to them every time I'm in my car. They deserved alot more recognition and were so underrated. Thank you for providing more new info. on this legendary band.

Once again Jordan we thank you for your fact-finding missions and your clear commentary on all of the facts! It is really sad to see that the Ramones never took off with their records and their tapes they really have an upbeat fast piece music lifestyle and to this day as far as my point of view it is always appreciated they really did a good job on their music and their concerts.

I saw the Ramones in the summer of 1995 at the Strand in Providence RI. There were 4 or 5 columns of half stacks on each side of the drum kit. Each column had 5 half stacks on top of each other. It was so fricken loud.....I loved it. RIP Joey Ramone

Love The Ramones, and their songs I Wanna be sedated, Blitzkrieg Bop, and their cover of " I Did it my way". Crazy to think Joey was the drummer at first, hard to imagine him not being their frontman. Joey Ramone will never be forgotten he is a punk/Rock Legend. Jeffrey Hyman RIP 🙏. From Liverpool UK.

Despite their well-known conflict, if you watch Marky’s movie (and listen to the commentary he made with the director and Johnny) Johnny and Joey may not have been exactly on speaking terms, but they would ride together on the tour bus, even walk together on the streets while they were touring. Their bond was very strange. Even Johnny in the commentary says “Look st that! Wow, we were sitting next to each other! Huh!” and you can hear the amazement in his voice…And at least once he remarked about how great Joey’s singing was. Siblings. Just like siblings. Fight all the time, but always brothers

Soooo, I am a new fan, just discovered your videos. I have enjoyed them so very much! I absolutely love your appreciation & knowledge of film/tv/music. Most of my friends have always been musicians, and historically my family has owned bars featuring live music. My grandmother owned a small joint here in Oklahoma where many old school county stars played in their younger years. Waylon, Merle, Conway, etc. Of them all, my personal favorite...Tommy Allsup. (Yes, coin flip) I was lucky enough to meet him a couple times. He played a few shows with a friend of mine in the early 2000s, which was great. He remembered my grandmother, was appreciative of her letting him have the house band slot many times. It was surreal talking with him about that, considering. Anywho, I could go on and on. Again, absolutely love your videos! Thank you for what you do 🖤📺📽️🎸🎬🖤 -Keely

I attended Joey's memorial at CBGBs. The venue was packed, but I expected a lot more attendees. I was really disappointed. I was hoping the police would have been forced to close the street for a couple of blocks due to the crowds. No The sidewalk in front of CBGBs was crammed with people. But that was it. The portion of the sidewalk is just in front of CBGBs. Back in the mid-90s, Joey was kind enough to be the narrator of an independent short film two friends of mine created. Unfortunately, after the film's premiere at a local film festival, the two had a falling out, and the film was lost to the mists.

Also, Tommy Ramone's grave is in a cemetery in West Babylon Long Island called New Montefiore. I tried to visit his grave, but the cemetery was closed?! I've never seen that before, ever. Apparently it's only closed on Saturdays. I would have hopped the gate and walked to his grave, but the cemetery is massive and it would have taken a long time to walk to his headstone. Nearby to this cemetery is another cemetery where James "Jimmy The Gent" Burke is buried, along with Peter Steele of Type O Negative, and the DeFeo family.
