I saw the movie. I have to say that while I thought Austin Butler did a great job singing and moving like Elvis when they showed him performing onstage, I was very bummed out that they portrayed Elvis as a depressed individual who seemed to NEVER be in a good mood and didn't have a sense of humor at all. They might as well have called the movie Emo Elvis. They made his mother sound like she was a drunk, clingy woman, and they made Vernon seem like an idiot. I know Elvis was happy at least sometimes in his life and knew how to joke around, but you would never know it by watching that movie. Just my opinion.

This 'morning visit' was a real treat. You provided us with a quieter, more peaceful Graceland - more the way it would have been when Elvis lived there. It was a beautiful tribute and another great addition to your back catalogue of Vlogs that feature 'The King'. It was also interesting to hear Scott's impressions of Graceland after not being there for a while. As you say, in the end, it's simply about one thing - his music. Many thanks Jordan and Scott for this vlog. Safe Travels.

I went to Graceland in 2019 and had no idea you could go to the Meditation Gardens in the morning before they opened. I happen to walk to the gates with about 10 minutes to spare before they closed it up for the morning. For anyone going to Graceland, go in the morning. It's a beautiful walk up the drive and you get to spend a little time at the graves before it gets busy. Wish I'd had more time that morning.
@keetonplace2 жыл бұрын
Unless it's changed since I was there in 2015, there's also an evening walk-up, which I did. I prefer, being a night person, the beautiful evening walk-up. So quiet and peaceful being there with Elvis, even with people all around. Everyone very respectful. But if I saw an impersonator, in costume, I would go the other way. It would ruin it for me. I've walked up that hill more times than I can count for the vigil and never once saw an impersonator. I didn't think they were allowed to go on Graceland's grounds in their garb.

In 2014, I was lucky enough to be there first thing in the morning as they weren't going to open that day due to there being something happening at the house. A guard across the road radio-ed up for me, and the gate house guy messaged back and said he would open the gates. So I thanked him and walked over, the only person, as the gates opened up and I walked through and up the drive. I then proceeded to have Elvis to myself for half an hour before I then left and finally passed people back at the gate coming in. I filmed the whole thing, and so glad I did! I've been a fan since I was a kid and luckily for me, I think Elvis knew and welcomed me in for some one to one time! What a treat, I know that chance would probably never happen again!

I’ve been doing nothing but obsessing over all the stuff lately since I saw the movie and I saw it for the second time this week. Why is Elvis so addicting lol. The nostalgic feel does give me anxiety because I know I’ll never ever be able to live during that period. It makes me sad how the world turned out and that people like him don’t exist anymore.

@Kyubone2 жыл бұрын
@@DazewithJordantheLion I mean obviously a biopic isn't gonna be able to show everything and in accurate order etc, it's not a documentary. But it's a good start to get into Elvis, and next read some books and watch some actual documentaries etc to get a deeper look into his life :) I've been a fan for 20 years, learned nothing new from the movie, spotted some inaccuracies, but I was able to look past them bc the movie as a whole was so well done, at least in my eyes, and since this movie has been very well received, I think many agree. I went to see it twice! I think the most important thing though is that the Presley family loves it and thinks it's done right, because it's about a family member of theirs, husband, father, grandfather. We as fans can have our opinions on it, but we're only fans after all.
@Kyubone2 жыл бұрын
If you're a new Elvis fan, welcome! Be sure to keep reading further about him than what the movie was able to tell (since it's only scratching the surface, with a few inaccuracies) if you're interested about going deeper into his life :)

really nice to see Graceland on a quieter note when its not crazy busy; I haven’t seen new Elvis movie yet, one of his songs I really luv so much is If I Can Dream - the words are so true we can still dream no matter what life throws at us, after this pandemic alot of us are feeling like what needs to change how to better our lives, how we can survive financial stress or start all over again; I draw strength from Elvis’ songs just luv his music and movies for the joy I receive from his gifts he gave us in life.

Thank you Jordan for this video ❣it seemed so quiet and peacefully. I visited Graceland twice and read a lot about Elvis. His smile was great and of course his sense of humor. They could have portrayed that more in the movie but overall I thought it was a movie portraying how he became a star very fast. His mother was very loving but started drinking when Elvis went in the army, she died of a liver disease. The movie was just too short to high light everything about his life. I am glad his family liked it. My favorite Elvis' song is If I can dream 🎵 he thought about the assassination of Dr King when he sang that song.
