Doesn’t help she was made because of a scrapped deal with a record company. Claremont did her somewhat better with the whole “she can shoot light? She’s a literal laser”. And I’m pretty sure her constant resurrections in Excalibur were all to have her be the 11th External.

Funny thing is she’s very Natasha Lyonne in that she’d want to date women only because her taste in men is awful lol. And yeah, part of the gay subtext of X men jokingly is how many of them stan Dazzler; the Kylie Minogue of Marvel.
