Well, you are not a beginner anymore. Things are getting serious fast hahah. Thank you for this amazing lessons, the publish and connect to was revealing. A small question, why did you use Matte Control at the beginning of fusion nodes?
@WilliamJusticeMedia4 жыл бұрын
Thanks so much. With this setup, i needed to have a mask on the main image for rounded corners. The matteControl is not required. The mask could go directly into the mediaIn instead of the matte control.... BUT i want this to be easily reusable... When adding the effect it is just quicker to just connect the medain in to one place... Instead of having to connect the medaIN and then add the mask on it. There is probably a better way to do it but this seemed to work for me.

Thanks... for the matteControl.. it was just a convenient way to add the mask. Not sure if there is a better way but did not want to put the mask directly on the mediain. that would make it more difficult to reuse. Yeah... keyframe stretcher is not good but works (sometimes). Wish you could right click on a key frame and PIN it to the beginning/end of a clip.. color could change.. .ex. keyframe marker turns blue to indicate it is pinned to the end... Also... not sure if you saw my previous video on the 3D generator... @WilliamJusticeMedia4 жыл бұрын
I thought about using an instance, but decided to create a separate node because most of the settings between the 2 rectangles would need to be de-instanced... ex.. level, border width, border position, length , possibility the soft edge as well. To me it seemed a bit easier to connect a couple of properties instead of de-instancing. Just a preference.. Really appreciate your feedback... Thanks for watching!

Thank you so much Mr. Justice for putting this tutorial together, and the many more you have published on your channel. I do have a few questions for you about these types of effects. I exported the settings for the basic animations using just the rectangles, nothing fancy, no rotation and such. The overall time for my video clip is 3 seconds, with the frames staring at 0 and ending at 71. Also, I followed your config to setup the transition at frame 9 and 10, moving 20 frames forward for the inner frame to take effect. The exported settings had a resolution (shot on a pixel 6 pro) of 1080 x 1920. Issue #1: If I import a video with the same resolution and apply the exported settings it works just fine, the problem I am having is if I import a video with resolutions of 1920 x 1080, then the settings does not work. I will have to edit the .settings files to match the resolutions. Furthermore, modifying the properties in the Inspector to resize it, creates a mess when I apply the settings in Fusion. Issue #2: The settings are based on the exported frame positions: 0 and ending on 71. If I import a video and trim out the beginning, thus extending beyond frame 71 (3 seconds) the effect wont work, it just shows the boarders without the border animation. I know you said to use the Keyframe extender, but how do you control that when the settings are set to position 0 and ending on 71? My apologies for the long explanation, but I have tried many different formats and different video resolutions/frame positions, seems to break the exported settings. Thank You! Regards, AC

Hey William. I'm a big fan of yours. As a KZbin creator myself I have switched over to DaVinci Resolve a few weeks ago as my goto editor. I watch many DaVinci Resolve videos and YOURS are my ultimate favorite. Love the projects that you do. Very creative stuff, and you're not a bore to watch. Yeah, you should have many times more subs than you do. I searched on "Davinci Resolve" and I had to scroll down like forever before I finally found one of your videos (this one). That's not good. I think you need to do some additional SEO for your videos. I notice you don't use many tags. Add as many as allowed. Be sure to include your title in your description, like this one "This video is about adding dazzling border animations & effects", for example. I WANT YOU TO SUCCEED BECAUSE YOU MAKE DOPE VIDS! Hey! Great tutorial! Thank you very much! Just a quick question, if you could advise. I saved the Fusion settings to a file and added it to my list of Fusion Effects so I can drag-drop it to a new image in the Edit pane. However, I noticed that it applies it, but when I use Transform-Zoom, the border doesn't resize with the image. On the other hand, if I just copy paste the grouped settings from one image to another, or if I apply the saved settings from inside Fusion, the border resizes with the image. What am I missing? Thanks!

Do you know whether it is possible to create the kind of frames that you are showing but with an empty space inside them? Basically creating just the frame itself, without combining it with any specific image (such as your skyscraper photo in this video)? My situation is I would like to use the frames to surround a text instead of an image and do so without violating the background that already exists. Thank you so much for you work - your tutorials are extremely helpful and accessible, especially to those who are just getting started with using the software. Take care!
@WilliamJusticeMedia4 жыл бұрын
Hi John, Yes, you can definitely create those type of frames... In fusion, you just need to have a background node (set it to whatever color you want your frame to be)... then add a rectangle mask into the blue input of the background. For the mask, uncheck solid and increase the border width.... When you view the background node you will see a colored rectangle border. You can adjust the rectangle size to fit around whatever you want. Hope that helps!

Did you have trouble downloading? you just just need to click the link to go tot he download page, then click download (it is on google drive). That will get your browser to download the .settings file. You can then go to your browser downloads to find the file. Once you have the file you should be able to drag it into a fusion composition.
