⚡the text has a cool glow effect around the edges. I really enjoyed working with the text. I would like to see more such lessons. Very often it is required to create titles for trailers and it looks professional. In particular, the logo for advertising. So do more of this. I will especially note the Node demonstration for understanding what to eat with what. The most difficult thing in creating such a composition is always understanding how to properly link the chain with the desired effects. It's hard to get used to after AE)))

Does fusion has a time displacement node, that can change time/keyframes according to the image map provided to it.
@kstalk09

This is a FANTASTIC lesson! I've just finished building v1 of the text reveal and am quite 'tickled' that it was as straight forward and understandable as it was - BRAVO! A quick question though, how hard do you think this would be to apply to 3D Text in fusion? I've done a significant amount of comps in fusion to consider myself a 'Fusion 3D Intermediate Amateur', so am really questioning if this might be easier to do with particles enclosed inside 3D text? Or alternatively, although I've never used the 3D Noise node before, (but have used FN to create texture materials) Any thoughts on this? I suppose I'm just asking an opinion on which direction to go in to evolve your demo into a 3D scene. TNX IN ADVANCE and again, GREAT WORK!
@MattMcCool0
@MattMcCool0 11 ай бұрын
Yeah, I guess using the fast noise as a material on the 3D text would get you pretty close. You could also use a Displace3D fed by the same fast noise (with some blur after) and point it at a 2nd camera to control the direction of the displacement (similar to X/Y refraction). I think you could combine that with some fancy particles and get some interesting results.
@kstalk09

@@MattMcCool0 I think you may have just provided me with the inspiration to find out - perhaps I can share the finished version if I manage to make it presentable (or of course, the 'almost finished' version since when are we ever really 'done' a comp in Fusion... are we? hehe) Tnx for the feedback - I'll wait impatiently for your NEXT AWESOME TUT!

okay, sub'd... I need more ideas like this and will check out what else you have regarding the fast noise... I have been kicking the backside out of that one for the last nine months or so to create abstract graphics for my music videos what I like to use is a fast noise followed by an edge detect, and then use mirrors to give me rosette/kaleidoscope type effects but I think I have pushed my experimentations to the limit, now, and it is getting a little bit boring cheers, andy
@MattMcCool0

Thanks for watching :) Another fun thing to try; you could add the filter node and use the Sobel type. Maybe with a brightness/contrast right before with the low and high clamped tightly and clipped blacks and whites. This will allow you to get sharper "edges" which could look nice with some glows and other effects.

Whenever I reach for the fast noise. I kind of wish two things. One, that BM would make the color gradient tab into its own node so we can feed any image into it so it can colorize incoming signals and not just the noise. I know you can sort of trick it to do that. But a straight forward Colorama (to borrow the name from the AE effect I want to replicate) node would make it sooo much simpler to teach us newbs. And speaking of AE. The other thing I so wish that Resolve could have is an equivalent to Vector Blur. No, not Vector Motion Blur. I mean Vector Blur. In AE, it is such a powerful way to turn noise and other inputs into globby, organic or even liquid patterns. I have tried time and time again to replicate that effect in fusion. And googling it only steers me towards the vector motion blur node, which is not at all what I'm going for. Anyone know of ways to get those two nodes? Colorama with custom color gradient, and Vector Blur?
@rano12321
@rano12321 7 ай бұрын
You can use the probe modifier in Fusion to creat gradients/colors from any sources. Add your footage, and then add a Background node, set it to gradient, right click on the color selector, choose "from image" and then open up the modifier section of the BG node and then drag and drop the image/video you want gradient from to the "image to scan" section and then if you view your BG node, you'll have your custome gradient. (Thanks to @Matt McCool for this one). Maybe Tilt shift blur but you don't need vector blur in Fusion. The power of nodes as you can use any blur and use any gradient or noise as a mask to mask out the blur. Make sure to change the channel to Luminence in the settings tab of the blur node if the alpha mode is not working for you.

I had some issues with the first tip (dilate/erode) to mask green parts inside the object i want to preserve in the video. In my case, the subject is in movement and he is with the arms a little away from his body, so, for some reason when I dilate the subject to get ride of the green part inside his body and then apply the erode, the space between his body and his arms are filled with bubbles from the difference of dilate/erode effect and not a masked area from the delta keyer anymore. By effect, this space between the arms and the body of the subject is green on the final image instead of transparent. Not sure if I made it clear since my English is not good enought to explain some things (sorry). Also, there is some green fringering next to the hair of the subject since it's not a clean hair as it's with your subject of the example. Maybe this solution is not good for footages with lots of movement, without sharp edges between the subject and the greenscreen background and also with small gaps filled with the greenscreen between objects that are not supposed to be masked out. Maybe you have some advices for these situations.
@motionvfx

Indeed, it's a bit complex here, but the technique applied in the video is a simplified version that can be adapted to more intricate shots with multiple keys and masks. For a deeper dive into this, try to explore more additive keying tutorials, you can find some on KZbin. Hope it helps a bit. 🙌🏻

Hmm, either the fast noise (or whatever you have in the foreground input) is a solid uniform color, or you may have "alpha" selected for the X Channel and the fast noise is solid alpha. If you have alpha selected, your displacement map has to contain a diverse pattern on the alpha channel, same for luma if you have that channel selected. Hope that helps! Let me know if you're still having trouble.

@@MattMcCool0 Thank you Very Much, I have corrected the displace node. Are you planning any fusion courses, I think it will be instant HIT. :)

can you track that blur in the person on the desk and window, what if it was all shot on a phone and all is in focus and we want to emulate an autofocus shit following the acotor. can we put diamonds on that

This could be tricky to explain, but here's what Matt did: I used the node I was going to talk about in the effect of each of those titles. That one used 2 bitmaps together with some slight offset and soft edge applied and a rectangle sliding by. Then some changes were made using a brightness contrast node to lift and invert certain tones.
