I'm not asking for more unnecessary rules in general, but: 1) INCREASE pitlane speed limit WHERE pitlanes can be WIDENED 2) OPTIMIZE unsafe pit release rules to justify the speed increase. I think they should do both at the same time to help the spectacle in terms of tire strategies. Pirrelli and FIA can't admit it since Bridgestone quit, but I suppose you can try justify masking poor performance of F1's sole tire supplier by artificially creating justification and urgency to suddenly make tire deg to the point that it caused the tires to literally shed large playdough-like peices of clay that F1 pundits for some reason still refer to them as "marbles". This has not helped the sport and needs to change. At the same time, F1 pitstops have become the bottleneck as track records get faster and faster over the years making it less optimal

The main thing that caused a lot of overtakes was the fact that there were a lot of different strategies in this race. The track is important too of course, but they need to make the tyres in such a way that there are multiple viable strategies (1-stop vs 2-stop). Then you will always end up with drivers on fresh tyres behind drivers on worn tyres, which promotes battling.

From max onboard it's very clear that he braked early and brake tested seb. These F1 cars can decelerate much quicker in a short distance. He braked like no one was there.

vettel is still better than leclerc an upgrade from ferrari got rid of understeer and brought in rear instability which sebs driving style doesn’t cope with so no he is still a number 1 driver
@lukasmihara5 жыл бұрын
Just look at the statistics this season. He's obviously number one. As _Liith_ said, the Ferrari's aero isn't that great, especially the front wing, which makes the car instable and doesn't fit Vettel's style of driving.

@AUmarcus5 жыл бұрын
No.....because Verstappen was forced off the road.....different story if it was voluntary.
@pindajung5 жыл бұрын
@@AUmarcus Yeah but if there was grass/gravel there instead of tarmac run-off, Verstappen would have had to concede the corner. He didn't by choosing to go off track, and in doing so he retook the position i.e. leaving the track and gaining an advantage.
@AUmarcus5 жыл бұрын
Again....he didn't really choose to go off track.....he was forced there. If you think about Ricciardo's overtake of Raikkonen in France....this was voluntary because he wasn't forced off track.
@pindajung5 жыл бұрын
@@AUmarcus In your view, would you then also say Leclerc in Austria was forced or chose to go off track. And would Leclerc then, and Verstappen now, crashed if there was a wall on the outside instead of tarmac run-off? Or would they have chosen to concede? If not, would there have been a penalty necessary for the driver on the inside, in your view, for forcing another car into that wall?

@@pindajung Are you referring to VER's first unsuccessful attempt at LEC in Austria or the second successful attempt? Hard to know with FIA....they seem to change their mind as often as underwear.
