As someone who is a bit of a tree hugger / environmentalist, i just wondered how much freight in the UK gets transported by train and is much investment being made to increase this as it's got to be more environmentally friendly than tonnes of trucks on the road. This video popped up randomly in my feed by the way :)

Sorry that it popped up in your feed, something that is out of my control. The total freight moved was 16.87 billion net tonne kilometres in the latest year (2022), a rise of 11.3 per cent compared with last year. It was 1.8 per cent higher than two years ago (April 2019 to March 2020).
