Erik Buell was directly involved with the frame design of the Dyna models way back, I think '70 or '71, with the first FXD.. Basically the idea was to create a great handling larger bike, with a big engine.. at that time a 1200cc.. Now of course it's the 103, and it's a very powerful engine, combined with a great handling chassis.. And there ya go, impressive bike.

that would explain my joy of making it through that first corner Hehe.. Nice bike, I liked it, even give its heft.

Great video :) Thanks for that. I am up for a new Harley, the first brand new one for me ever, when the 2016 models come out. Until now I bought just used ... or preloved ... bikes. Between the Street Bob and the Wide Glide, how you would compare them ? Because that's the two bikes I have in mind, well, one of them it will be :)
@dbest1aVlogs9 жыл бұрын
Man .. hard to recall.. was over a year ago.. I did like them both but the wide glide if I remember right was the heavier one.. I would have liked street Bob ...
@VTwinSkully9 жыл бұрын
dbest1a Thanks :) I do like heavy bikes, so the Wide Glide is growing on me.
@dbest1aVlogs9 жыл бұрын
Another thing I remember people telling me is they had the bars on the street bob to far back.. I guess they usually have them a little further forward .

I've found that most bike companies do t adjust the breaks proper til after the first service my suzuki boulevard was the same real soft rear break after first service the breaks were much better
@dbest1aVlogs7 жыл бұрын
yeah others have commented on the rear brake, even the HD rep commented on it when I got back and mentioned it .

Will the wild glide be good for a person starting out for the first time rider
@dbest1aVlogs10 жыл бұрын
I can't say yes to test.. It's a heavy bike..., has plenty of grunt, sucky brakes.. So fearing down n firm right hand on the lever was a must.. There are plenty of videos on opinions of good starter bikes.

Were these beach bars or drags bar or somewhere in between? Can't figure the rise. Was the position comfortable, straight or forward arms? I'm thinking of swapping my mini apes for lower bars. Tnx

Awesome ride/video/bike. Think I'm sold on getting a wide glide, been on the fence as far as what to get for my first real, decent cruiser street bike, considered Victory's, Indians, even the (don't laugh or choke) Yamaha Bolt, but came back full circle to the Harley Wide Glide. Don't want to mess around. I'm extremely excited/ can't wait!!
@dbest1aVlogs7 жыл бұрын
Test ride one first ... nice bike though. The bolt is nice with many different variations .. the motor is bullet proof too. Just depends on what size, style bike you want. Get what you like, and is reliable ... then ride n enjoy.

WHAT? Where are the brakes? Isn’t the same with sport bike?
@dbest1aVlogs4 жыл бұрын
Not when you press em and nothing happens
@chauffeurmarco4 жыл бұрын
Dbest1a’s Ride yeah I know. Sport bike need a différente type because so much HP. Everything is built differently. The two bikes are made for different purposes. One has a ton of HP and the other one lot of low torque. And 😌 one is very confortable and the other one is not
@dbest1aVlogs4 жыл бұрын
I know and understand this very well. Thing is , I'm just rolling along slow, and applying some back brake to stop for a bbn pedestrian. There was nothing.... no feeling, no reduction of speed. Nothing. I went to the front. It's pretty sad actually, and I would expect better from them. Ofcourse now they have started using better brake in their newer bikes, but this was horrible. I've gotten many comments criticizing how I expressed this, and some praising. Just me expressing what I noticed.
@chauffeurmarco4 жыл бұрын
Dbest1a’s Ride maybe it’s the bike. Because we don’t need for those sportbike kind of brakes. I’m a cruiser rider and ride few of them and brake very well. Speed is not what we seeking so the brakes are adapted to this kind of bike family. Maybe it’s the bike’ brakes the problem.
@dbest1aVlogs4 жыл бұрын
@@chauffeurmarco regardless of vehicle. Be it car, bike , whatever .. atv. I am always adamant about good brakes. In regard to speed , it could be slow, it could be fast .... when I need to stop, I want to stop. If I have to drag my feet like in the flintstone days, then I wont ride it. It's actually a big reason I moved away from riding my buell blast, no matter what I did I couldn't get the brakes to feel how I wanted. I know most wont feel the same, but even when cruising at 45mph if i have to stop fast I want my brakes and suspension to perform for me at their peak. This wide glides brakes were just sub par. Through the whole demo I was using mostly the front brake even when going slow. My current Vstar is set up very adequately to keep me happy with braking, and even that could be better, but it over performs when I call on it.
