he pretty much is one of the worst, the only thing hes got going for him is reads with his counter, we cant judge how good a character is based on how someone used them or how many combos he has, his counters can be vanished out of, he doesnt have much with mix ups or block pressure, and his heavy is a grab so yes jiren is one of the worst

Jiren combos got a lot of corner carry, and if your not gonna make it to a knockdown in the corner, using 2s into a super broly tag gives his grab enough to make it to that corner lvl3. I run sbroly, jiren, gogeta. This is a great team for being able to swap during every combo if needed.

Connor Hamilton Jiren is a bad character. I’d go as far as saying he’s the single worst character in the game. As bad a Krillin and Beerus are, their tools are usable. Jiren is an anti-meta character like Janemba and Hit, except his anti-meta tools are currently trash, which means you’re essentially using a character that only has normals. Hit and Janemba’s counters work on your opponent AND their assists. Jiren’s only work on the point character, and most importantly the reward is poor. His projectile counter can be vanished and his physical counters have little follow up, whereas Hit and Janemba’s net you a full combo conversion. The only buffs he needs are to his counters and he’ll be 100% viable. His projectile counter should also work on assists and it should be a guaranteed hit with no follow up unless you spend a bar. If there’s only room for one buff, this should be it. The other counters should have some sort of scaled meterless follow up considering the risk involved minus the ex counter. The shoulder charge needs much more range. That’s what he needs. Otherwise, it’s basically like playing SSJ goku without being able to use his specials.

Maria Delgado I think his command grab can have the startup decreased a bit. Maybe to 24 frames. I actually wouldn’t touch it too much as Jiren isn’t really a mixup character and can condition his opponent to taking the grab. Also there’s something to be said about having a command grab that can be vanished on whiff.

People really sleep on jiren I've been maining him since launch, sure he needs buffs but people underestimate him and what he brings to the table. - damn near full screen conversations off js or j2S - extremely high solo dmg he can get 5k + off a 2L meter less with no assist making 2 bars or higher - high ass meter gain, his bomb loops give him insane meter gain by himself - great stagger pressure with the 5L and 5LL 2L reverse beat and 236S beating projectiles frame trapping all leading to bullshit dmg up the ass by himself he practically 2 taps anyone by himself - his 5S has insane priority over majority of projectiles and BEATS SUPER DASH, this is why jirens neutral is insane this move may require decent reads due to the startup, but has massive pros. His 5S completely shuts down damn near every option and counts as a normal so he can vanish on whiff to beat your opponents vanish - great normals - strong assist with a lot of block stun and lil push back making it great for rush down heavy guys like bardock or gohan Overall jiren just need counter buffs, j2H faster startup like gogeta so he gets the knock down anywhere and buffs to 5H those 3 alone will make jiren dangerous. He is one of those characters where a few small buffs will shoot him up the tier list, but I enjoy jiren just for his 5S and neutral alone.

Santiago H A16 definitely has a lot more to offer than Jiren. Jiren has no mix, armor, stagger or quick grabs. A16 has armor, a little stagger, a fast grab and good damage. Jiren can get good damage but struggles to open people up and relies heavily on assists. A16 is easily Mid or high mid tier while Jiren is low low low tier. I love Jiren and is a favorite of mine, but he is just bad.

Santiago H It doesn’t matter the how many pros use the character. For example, there are not a lot of Cooler or Videl players, but that doesn’t make them low tier. Both of those characters are around mid tier or higher. A16 was considered the best in the beginning, but he got nerfed kinda hard. Even with those nerfs, he is still mid tier or slightly above. Most pros put him in B+ tier. A16 is by far more better than A16.
