DBN GOGO interview: why she bought a BMW, her favourite car for gigs & chats SA Car Culture - S1E3

DBN GOGO is arguably South Africa's hottest DJ right now, selling out gigs across Mzansi with her unique take on the cultural phenomenon that is Amapiano.
This proudly South African genre of dance music has become the soundtrack of young South Africa, and DBN GOGO (Mandisa Radebe) is at the forefront of the movement. She has collaborated with huge South African artists like Felo Le Tee, Maphorisa & Focalistic. Her hit songs include Khuza Gogo, Bells and Ketseng.
We were honoured to have her join us in the Cars.co.za Car Culture studio for season one of this series. In this video DBN Gogo talks about growing up with cars in South Africa, what cars mean to South Africans, car status and her favourite cars.

Does nobody know cars in SA? I mean it's not like most new cars will break down while driving a short distance. If you're talking about how far it can go on one tank, most cars do really well. For example, a 2022 Corvette c8, which goes for around 1.5 mil(it isn't sold in South Africa, I'll give another example) is a 2 seat, naturally aspirated(you could even turbocharge it for better top speed, or twin turbocharge so that it is even better off the line) 3.8l straight6(I kind of forgot the engine size so maybe not 3.8) and hits 0-96 in 2.8 seconds with a max speed of 300km/h. Get this, it goes 800km(500m)on one tank. Im not joking. For another example, in South Africa there is the new spec BMW M4 xDrive(means 4WD) which goes 0-96 in 2.8 and last around 600km and is a 4 seater. There is even the Lamborghini Aventador 2013 or 2012(I forgot) goes 400km. Bad fuel economy is like the Porsche 911 GT3 that goes 0-96 in 2.5 I think. It only goes 135 miles on one tank(I forgot how many kms it was)
