I made a Phoenix in d2r for my lazy javazon and I was thinking about making a build exactly like this because I love playing fire sorc. Go figure my man dbrunski already gave it a test drive. Fun fact a sorc under 105 fcr is still the same speed as a 125 fcr hammerdin or necro so it should feel familiar. Thanks for another nice build and video. Looking forward to trying it out!

Honestly, I grew up playing Diablo 2. It consumed hundreds of hours and got me through some difficult times. That being said, seeing you play really puts me in a whole different league. The speed at which you play is just boggling! I'm a lot slower and take my time, and seeing your inventory fully staffed made me uneasy haha! How do you know what to pick up? Hell, I picked up every blue, yellow, unique and set item when I played. I guess, I must have been super casual. Was fun seeing you rip through mobs though. Here is hoping Diablo 2: Resurrected gives me a similar feeling for when I first fought the Countess, Blood Raven, Mephisto and similar mobs.

I've always found phoenix to be a super cool and underappreciated runeword. Here is a nice niche build for you guys to try: Frozen orb/fire ball hybrid: Helm: Nightwing's Weapon: Death's Fathom Chest: Either fireball ormus or Vipermagi Shield: Phoenix monarch Gloves: Magefists Belt: Arach This gives you either 80 or 90 fcr. Rest you need to get from rings and amu. I used to have 15+fcr amu and I ran with vipermagi so I could use 2x soj for more dmg. You have 3 items you can socket with fire or cold facet for more dmg. You play this char by spamming fireballs in between frozen orb casts, really fun and actually very effective playstyle. I'd say it's almost as fast killer as light, altough much more expensive gear and harder to get high MF with

You can aim blizzard/meteor better by holding 'Alt' down. you don't click on a mob and auto-aim it. You can free aim it and getter better damage splashes cause you'll have just a little more control. Hope this helps!

Why not use a head hunters with x3 5-5 fire facets in it? It would have lower str req than a monarch which can save you more points for vita. Also that fire and poison resist on the head hunters can come in good use. Just a thought.

ive been testing full tal rasha set in a light sorceress. its actually very interesting: -High HP -High FHR -Average FCR -Very high MF -You can put 3x -5% elr facets -The set alone provides -15% elr -35 fcr spirit is extremely important though Final result: 30k lighting damage / 105 fcr / -30% Enemy light res / 400 Mf (with a few mf charms in inventory) / Over 2.3k HP Cheap, effective. These are my stats and i dont have any perfect items. Just regular average gear.

If you make new chars very often, then you truly know the value of sets. Death’s gloves + belt combo is one of my favs. Hsarus boots are great as level 3 mobility. The complete set is good too.

Corpse explosion is physical and fire, amp damage will remove 99 per cent of physical immunity, only I think stone skin enchanted ghost bosses are not broken by it. A skeleton army with a beefy clay golem and an occasional revive that has crushing blow will wreck pretty much everything especially if you throw on beast, pride and/or might auras. Even a bramble with a bunch of minions can actually be effective. Summoner druid with a reapers roll to swap for your pride merc can do it as well, very safe but slow.

For me, i used Heroeditor since i had "almost any" viable build on BNet. Heroeditor is nice if you want to try out builds such as DB's Phoenix Sorc without farming the expensive gear. But its not realy a pleasure since the feeling of getting a desired item after some time is unbeatable to me

I used hero editor a lot when I was younger, but it takes a lot of depth out of the overall experience.Now adays I stick to farming when I get that d2 itch. If youre just itching to play for a build you saw or play for an afternoon hero editor is the way to go, but if you have the time and desire to really play some D2, farming is definitely a lot more rewarding over time.

It is a solid build but i would personally run a cookie cutter hammerdin thats just as fast an would only struggle with ancient tunnels, some temples in kurast, and the second wave of baal where this build that is more exspensive is boxed in to areas where there arent any or mamy fire immunities.

played d2 years ago so im kinda rusty, but only a lightning sorc can deal with most immunities in the game, especially since you have infy on merc (cold immunes have massive stacked res so nothing pierces it, some of the fire ones can be pierced but some not, while only light can be pierced almost all of the time with infy), so phoenix doesnt really mean much for fire immunes as the -res by itself doesnt pierce the immunity, just lowers the already pierced ones. not bad for a bot cause redemption removes corpses, but no 105fcr so thats a bummer :( fun niche build but thats about it.

The areas that I was showcasing the build don't often spawn fire immunity so in that case that additional minus fire res does help. But yes your right only lower res wand and conviction will actually break immunity, facets and other minus res sources wont. Most monsters do have some inherent fire res in hell also if they aren't fire immune. So the -86 from infinity stacks with -28 on phoenix and -15 on full tals. Also realistically it can mf many areas that are good just they are a little sub par to the standard areas. Can mf hell andy, mausoleum, durance hate lv 3, drifter cavern and world stone keep level 2 pretty effectively with fire. But yea it is a more niche build. ty for watching

You only need kill Mep far enough to telekinisis the portal, dont need quick . And you need to stand in range (I dont know how much :)) to telekinisis, too far it wont work
