i just wanted to mention that angelic armor is an undervalued piece of the set...at least for leveling. OFC you're already going to be using the rings and amulet. But, the armor adds 200+ defense, 50 mana, 50 FR, +1 all skills, and 50 mf per ring. i mean, that's pretty damned good imo. The only better armor(other than like, twinked gear with damage jewels), is stealth, and that's only IF you need the FCR to reach the next breakpoint. Otherwise, angelic armor is waaaay better. If you're not a caster, it's a no brainer. A lot of times, I use it on casters anyways, because the life/defense bonuses make it a lot safer for HC than cast speed builds.

i really feel like blizzard made a mistake when they introduced rune words. not that rune words were a mistake, but they should have reworked sets. boost them, give them greater versatility, whatever, to make them comparable to rune words. i did not like how rune words just, dominated game play. felt like a significant portion of gear was made obsolete

The Natalya Set is quite strong for Martial Arts, I use it with Bartucs offhand. And the Griswold set is quite strong too but unfortunately is quite rare to get. I have not much good to say about Aldurs though For IK I like Concentrate/Whirlwind. For Mavina I do Strafe/Magic Arrow with Freezing Arrow. For Tals I think Fireball/Meteor with Frozen Orb works great. And Trangs also very nice with Poison Nova and Summons. One thing about Trangs is make sure to Walk instead of Run, since they go the same speed on the ghoul form, and Walking will preserve your block chance, which is very useful

Only gripe with sigons is the rather high str requirement early on. Set is like, level 3 requirements but impossible to wear until like level 7 or 8 cause of the str requirement.

You can wear a few str charms. I usually larzuk the shield for a perfect diamond, but a knock back rune could work too. Of course everything upgraded to exceptional. Works great on any melee.

Beat me to it. Was gonna suggest Sigons. A great and greatly overlooked set, imo. Carries any melee char up to hell. Sigon with two 30% Nagelrings is usually my starterset for any char that will go up to 75 and above strength anyways. And with the 110 additional MF your guaranteed to pick up some nice trinkets along the way for other chars while you rush normal and nightmare.

@@seanwayne4603 sigon isn't overlooked, it was pretty popular in the early diablo 2 days. Now with upgrades to exceptional it's easy to play hell act 1 amazon with full (xc) sigon. I dunno about the elite version - str might be a problem.

Agree with all 4, love them all. My WW barb rocked IK until I had my griefs made, my Blizz Sorc still rocks Tals and my Summon Necro is still in a Trang set. Only reason I don't have full Mavina yet is I haven't dropped all the pieces and made myself a bow sorc yet. Great video Phil!

Angelic ring and amulet + raven frost on IK barb is the way unless you want to use a no freeze rune somewhere in the set.. Always worked for me 20 years ago.

The Hsarus set is the pound for pound GOAT. All the other sets are never best in slot. From level 3-20ish, there is no gear I'd rather have over Hsarus' full set. Cannot be frozen, 20% FRW, an early 12 slot belt, +10 attack rating per level just to mention a few amazing mods. Hsarus' set does not get the love it deserves.

angelic rings and amulet are BIS for many melee builds. Hsaru's belt and boots are great for leveling though... i like it for the AR. I think the cannot be frozen requires the shield, and normally, I can't afford to use the shield.

@@zaug1561 i normally don't use shields, but if i do, it's usually for resistances. and pallies have their own shields that are crazy.. you can get a 4os targe with 40+ res at lvl 3. i don't play pally often though. same with barb. What class are you using the shield with?

Maybe in the future you can show all the piece specific bonuses for longer? Hard to pause when some of the pieces you skim over very quickly or not even at all such as the IK boots. I understand I can just look online, but I want to watch your video and get the best of both worlds of seeing the bonuses AND seeing how they fare in the Diablo wilderness. Love the vids!

Problem with IK is that it deals cold damage and can sometimes explode the corpses you need. Solution : Remove Cold damage from maul and add CBF to Armor Problem with M'avina is the bow doesn't deal enough damage. Solution : Increased %ED on the bow the more pieces you have Problem with Thrang is that it fucks over your casting speed with the Ghoul. Solution : Grant a +1 Transform Ghoul instead of forcing in a Ghoul. Problem with Aldur is the weapon is an Exceptional base. Solution : Was fixed by allowing to increase the quality of set items No problem with Tal Rasha, super good set. Problem with Natalya is the Claw. Solution : Make the claw possible to spawn 1-3 skill on it. Would improve the value of the claws as well. Problem with Griswold is it's good for only 1 build. Solution : Reduce strength requirement on shield too, increase the faster cast rate on a few pieces and give the armor a random aura that ranges level from 10 to 15 when full gear is equipped.

In 15 years of playing D2, as a bowazon enthusiast, I've only ever found Mav's bow, and nothing else. 😞 I was, however, able to find everything I needed for an Ice bow, which is pretty cool. 🥰 Special mention for Sigon's Steel, which I always gifted to new characters who were attack based. Just so solid, and viable thru early NM if you haven't found better gear before then.

It's actually a lot better for single target combat against bosses because they are literally bigger and those random hits actually don't really matter.

My favorite sets…angelic ammy/ring on any mele character…deaths sash and gloves for the CNBF and massive IAS boost plus other goodies like all res and poison length reduction 75% is crazy good. Oh and honorable mention cows leathers set for mele characters is super good for leveling through the game.

no firewall or fireball with lower resist for the necro... poison is bugged in the way it does dmg... you almost have to not use a merc or summons for the "ticks" of poison to do dmg

Honestly I wish all of the endgame sets would add +1 Teleport like Enigma just to give everyone a budget option for the effect. Well all but the Tal Rasha set obviously. I do love these sets though. Great at the start of ladder, or solo self found, and can be super viable in Hell. Also most of them are pretty cheap to acquire via trade even early on.

Those are a horrid experience for basically everyone. There should be a MUCH more streamlined way of obtaining this particular Skill for everyone and normally it is Enigma. This makes that much easier to obtain, within normal class identity, and adds value to the sets themselves in a new way. Personally I HATE using teleport charges. It typically means you have to weapon swap which means you resistances or defenses will be compromised, your FCR usually takes a giant hit, and yeah it is a lousy alternative.@@kosterix123

Gris set can do anything. From cheap to super expensive. Can easily get to 1 frame on faster block. Even a set with p skulls will give you insane regerate mana/life 4 sockets in weapon can achieve 80% crushing blow or deadly strike. Not to mention good place to use not perfect facit jewels for a 1 hitter vengeance palla and don't forget the foh build.

IK set is not great for Travs because of the "Freezes target" bonus on the Maul. Also, if you don't have the cube, you can get it from Travs IIRC

IK barb was the first thing I rolled when D2R launched. By day 4 I had it + a torch and just started farming CS like a madman, it was awesome. It makes you super tanky and gives a metric tonn of AR, just perfect for ladder start. Now it's been weakened a bit by recent patches, but still cool. It now needs CBF and caps at 5 fram attacks instead of 4, and also doesn't ignore Decrepify.

honestly all of the 6pc "end game" sets are viable the problem is that they require a lot of effort to get the complete set (especially offline) and there are better options for less effort. For example maven's gets absolutly crushed by even a poorly geared javazon and trang's isen't really much better that a budget fishymancer. So the problem is not so much that they don't work it's that they take way too much effort to complete for something thats not even close to meta, and for the added insult if you are playing online you usually have to overpay to get them because people often don't pick them up (with the exception of the IK set and select pieces like tranq gloves) so when you find one they know they have got you by the balls. This unfortuantly makes these sets more of a just for fun thing in late season than anything else.

I disagree about Tal's weapon. By itself it sucks but with the full set the bonuses are pretty good. I run full Tals and have no issues anywhere in the game. I guess you can kill stuff a millisecond faster with a set up full of high runes.
