I have a few things I think they could've done to improve broly his defeat should've been killed by the comet that was destroying the planet that would've made more sense, if they're going to make him stupid in the sequels don't bring him back and give him a better motivation on hating goku more than goku's crying how about being stabbed despite showing more promise as a warrior and goku got sent to earth and have that infuriate broly because he thinks goku should've been the one to die despite those issues I think z broly is awesome

I think this movie is heavily misunderstood. Broly was not fighting Goku cause he cried. It was his Saiyan instinct to fight the strongest similarly to Vegeta, Broly challenges Goku first, knowing he is the strongest there right after his transformation. Also his power way too much for his body too handle. If you see he almost explodes during transformation. Goku just manages gather enough energy to break his chi shield and punch him deep enough. This causes brolys incredible chi to get out of his body, causing him to explode and that energy breakout from his body.
