DC-3 in Icelandair livery

This is TF-NPK DC-3 in Iceland. It was painted in Icelandair livery in 2006. This DC-3 used to fly for Icelandair from 1946-1972. Flying domestic flights around Iceland and to Greenland. This DC-3 is kept in flying condition and still flies.

Maintained a DC-3 in Alaska for 13 years, the only way we could keep the P&W 1830's going were to use METO power takeoffs. And even then, you cracked a few cylinders.

I totally love that plane! My experience with it was in Antsrctica in 2019 and 2020) It was actually BT67 but the airframe was from a C47 assembled in 1943)

We call this plane the tractor of the sky. The only solution is to change the engine from piston to jet prop. This way, service will be like any aircraft in this categories .

only been in a prop plane once, rest of the time jets, now I hate flying but I loved the prop plane, guess I just dont like jets, airbus ect
