Since it’s the Gunnverse, I imagine it’ll basically be the Two-icide Squad. A couple of chuckling, smirking bad guys do cartoonishly gory violence, then pause to have a conversation where Dude One says something that Dude Two can’t believe, leading to a five-minute exchange that’s overstuffed with clever quips and pop culture asides.

i think this was mostly an issue with peacemaker, watch any of the gotg films or the suicide squad and the formula is much less noticeable

Just hearing the concept with little to no information a Deathstroke and Bane movie sounds like something DC would do back in 2016/2017 when they were really scrambling trying to catch up with Marvel real fast; setting up lore and many different characters/teams. Even though the Gunnverse hasn't really started and a lot of movies have been lack luster or just not the mega successes DC wanted/needed them to be (AquaMan 2, Shazam 2, Blue Beatle, etc) it seems like James Gunn and team are being really smart about what characters they are going to bring in. A team up with these characters kind of feels like a Sony Marvel type movie.

To be fair, Sony & Marvel only has antiheroes. Deadpool & Wolverine both literally save the Multiverse. Meanwhile, Bane & Deathstroke are both very selfish and evil villains, so a movie with them can focus on that.
