It is interesting to me how much we freak out when villains actually embody and pursue true evil. I know I often don't realize how much of a sanitized villain I expect in comics and movies, etc. A true villain is going to be cruel, subtle, manipulative, hidden, psychological, and targeting the vulnerable. That's genuine evil.
@ChineduOpara10 ай бұрын
@vipe650r Exactly! It's like the whole Batman/Bruce Wayne thing... in the real world, Wayne would be using his vast wealth and resources to make the city better, purge corrupt police, end homelessness, etc. Basically, make petty crime pointless in Gotham. And on the villain side, in the real world, after his first murder spree, "Joker" would be locked away _permanently_ or maybe even executed by law enforcement.

This guy is just a discount vampire, so while you might find it offensive it actually makes sense in a way. And also not really. The HIV is a very fragile virus, so to imagine that it would come into contact with this guy's immune system before being efficiently digested by whatever system he's got in place to derive nourishment from blood is a little bit stupid. Then again when this comic was released they had just realized that it's transmitted by bodily fluids, before that some people were treating it as if it was airborne.
