Just so everyone knows, my hands weren't nasty dirty while filming this video. It's actually paint from custom re-painting my second DC Essentials Batman into a black and grey theme. The paint just wouldn't come off.

Love the repainted Bats! What paint do you use? Does it come off the cape? I was considering the exact same treatment for my DC Essentials Batman. I absolutely agree with your assessment of this first wave. Just picked up Prof Zoom today. I want to collect them all!

My main gripe with these two are the lack of boot details, these are supposed to be Prime Earth Flash/Reverse from The Button story(as per Jim Fletcher) and should have engraved "wing" details at the top of the boots. I can forgive the lack of "speed lines" though, I never liked those anyway also they have sculpted fingernails because they share the same buck with every other character and some of them(like Supes and Brainiac) need fingernails.

Very nice video Brad. The crotch area looks weird. The articulation on mine is really loose and the neck joint was stuck. I have ad to take the head off and put it in hot water to loosen it. Be mindful that the peg that holds the head is minuscule and can break easily.

Cool video you talked me back into getting them. The problem isn't affording them as in 23 dollar action figures, it's affording them AND every Transformers line, both Hasbro 6" and Shfiguarts Star Wars and Marvel Studios figures, Super7 MOTU Filmation, Soul of Chogokin, Macross, Transformers Masterpiece, GIJOE, Voltron, & everything else completionist. Rambling aside can I ask you a question? @ timestamp 4:53 all the flashes on OUR left one figure from this Essentials Flash, is that Young Justice 6" figure of Flash? Or just some DC Collectibles artist comic style homage? Also is that top right all the way down, a custom BTAS Flash? :)

Unless his character rises to prominence fairly soon you may need to do a custom one. Seems like they are only going with big characters that are sure fire sells.

Looks good, but easy pass for me. They are too big and have the same mold (yes, Superman has the same mold as Flash, and others too). The lack of accessories is very frustrating. I'm not suggesting shoving a Cosmic Treadmill for Flash in the box, but at least give us extra hands and effects. If you want to save money - reduce the size of the figures to the size of the Legends. Don't make them so huge. Meh...I miss DC Icons. They just needed to release the figures so that we could complete the teams.

DCC can't do the figures at the same scale as DCM because it might be a competitive issue for mattel since they share the licence. But yeah, these are very dissapointing IMO, I don't predict a good future for this line. Is the poorest job I've seen from dc collectibles, and they're not particularly cheap. Dc icons were great, but sadly most people weren't very interested on them.

Figures are perfect size for all their older comic based lines. The reason they dont have accessories is because they had the added articulation that icons didnt. They are doing the same format that marvel legends is using. Reuses the same mold, repaint, different head sculpts. Marvel is STILL using the Bucky cap mold after years of use. But when dcc does it's all of the sudden a problem.What is everyone's obsession with mixing with legends? Or other lines from different companies? Dcc action figures have always been in 7" except the animated and icons lines. That got cancelled for this very reason!! People just want to complain. Icons had the best details, paint app, accessories. But wasn't enough because "their to tiny, I cant make my captain America fight batman"....ugh. if people understand that no company will make stuff the same size as their competitors then awesome lines like icons and eventually this one wont get cancelled.

Nah, even the legends have more bodies. This line - "one mold for everyone". Each character has the same mold. And it's stupid. I love DC and I wish for them the best, but not this line. If you want new line to be successful - it should appeal to new collectors. New collectors don't care about "older comic based lines". The last things they remember was "Icons". And it was good, not GREAT, but good. In the last waves they fix the scale. But it doesn't matter. Old collectors still complained about "it was not the 7''". Well, now you have this line, with no accessories, bad paint, ugly lanky proportions and the same mold for every figure. Enjoy. Yes, this is a problem. DCC is not Hasbro, they cost more. They should be better. They shouldn't use the same mold. And you still can't "make my captain America fight batman". So what the point? Anyway. I don't think this this line will last long. Year or two. And then it will be canceled. Waste of money.
