Just picked up reverse flash to see what's going on. I love it. The articulation is on point. Figures look and feel good. If you're complaining about it being 7" just stop. Dc collectibles/dc direct has always had 7" figures up until they did the icons line. That only fit with imports mainly. These will fit in perfectly with the rest of the older new 52/ designer series we got years back. If you're so fixed on mixing dc and marvel line just go with mattel multiverse. Really cookie cutter detail but is closer. Please stop complaining before you get another good DCC line canceled...

You make him a collector piece and boast about the posable joints but give him no way to show off said poses? Death stroke is a cheap mess from how his sword sheath is the wrong direction it what hand they made hold it to hs painted on scales. It's like a cake that looks nice but is raw on the inside

Main problem with icons, just tilt their heads up and see yourself. It wasn't how they looked, it was how they articulated, and they weren't good. If a flyer can't look up, you aren't designing them right. With wonder woman and shazam, I don't mind them being bigger but that flash is just too big for me.

i was never sold on the icons line. the lack of thigh swivel sucked. icons superman couldn't even look up. I'm happy it's gone. i prefer the essentials because of articulation but the lack of accessories suck. but i can use some of my own

It's a beautiful figure with really clean paint apps and great articulation. I just hate that so many companies play with scale. I didn't buy too many icons because they were tiny, and I won't be buying these because they are too big. Why can't they be the same scale as DCUC? hmmm

Nice video. Did you notice they get super loose the more you play around with them? ..2 hours into owning these things and they are wet noodles that have trouble standing. But worst of all, that neck peg is going to twist right off. I’m so afraid to keep turning the head.. it’s the one part that I wish loosened up. They will definitely break off sooner than later. Beautiful looking figure.. just an incredible shame they can’t stick through the learning growth of one line to make better stuff.

dubblewokad yeah mine got pretty loose quick too, it a huge reason why I was a little down on the figure. I really don't mind the scale and to be honest I can live with the lack of accessories but the figure HAS to feel good in your hand and be a joy to handle. Thanks for watching!

Looks very good, but easy pass for me. They are too big and have the same mold (yes, Superman has the same mold as Flash, and others too). The lack of accessories is very frustrating. I'm not suggesting shoving a Cosmic Treadmill for Flash in the box, but at least give us extra hands and effects. If you want to save money - reduce the size of the figures to the size of the Legends. Don't make them so huge. Meh...I miss DC Icons. They just needed to release the figures so that we could complete the teams.

Aleks yeah just a couple of small accessories would have been fine and really made this figure more worth getting. I am glad to have him but I am not sold on the line. I am gonna miss icons too. They should have just added that thigh cut and kept them going.

i doubt will get more accessories without a price raise. have to take in consideration these are bigger and are pretty much fully painted. ML and icons can get away with accessories because they were smaller. ML don't fully paint figures usually to. and hopefully essentials fix that loose joint problem

I love it. Got mine yesterday 07/25/2018 DC Icons was too small and the Essentials are too big. WTF? And Mattel have the right size but they are mostly crap till now that they decided to try to catch up to Marvel Legends but still have a long way to go.

Good review. Sometimes it seems to me like DC is just all over the place when it comes to their products. To not make Icons 6 inch in the first place baffles me. I know they were trying to be different from Marvel but I feel like that hurt them in the long run. These look like cool figures but now you're not getting the extras that Icons came with. I just feel like DC focuses too much on being different rather than listening to the fans/collectors and just make good figures. Just my 2 cents, Lol.

In all fairness they tried that with icons (starting out with less mainstraim characters like Mister miracle and Blue Beetle) and the result was people saying “why didnt they just start with Superman, Wonder woman etc” and dropping the line

Hmmm, maybe. But as a long time collector of DC Direct / DC Collectibles figures, I've got countless figures of the main heroes. Many of them in their standard costumes. After a while it just gets boring and you sort of zone out. For me I never really got into Icons because they didn't work with all the DC Direct / DC Collectibles figures I bought over the years, that's why I didn't care for that line.

Snowmation Well i can understand getting burnt out on too many of the same character, but I feel the Icons / essentials line had/has a different market from previous DC figures. Older DC figures, for me at least, typically appealed to the “buy it and leave it on a shelf” collector and we never really got any proper high quality super posable DC figures similar to Marvel legends or figuarts until the recent Mezco line (there’s mattels DC line but I would neither define that as highly posible or high quality), only figures with 5 points or so of articulation. The icons line was meant to appeal to that demographic, but they tried the Marvel legends formula of 2-3 A-B listers mixed with C-Z listers minus the BAF pieces and it just left people wanting just the A-listers that people actually wanted highly posable figures of, combined with the weird size scale and early questionable quality of articulation and face sculpts (Icons superman being a prime example. Yikes) this caused people to ditch the line before it had a chance to grow and make the essentials line which so far seems to be “OK let’s just make the characters both hardcore fans and casuals want and leave it”.

Yeah I get you and yes the Icons started out with weak head sculpts. For when it comes to figures with a lot of articulation or minimal and can float both ways. As long as sculpt and paint are on point. If Icons had kept the standard DC Direct/DC Collectibles 6.75"-7" scale I would have likely picked up the line for one key reason. Up to that point DC Collectible fans had been begging for non artist specific versions of figures for years and that's what Icons did. But I didn't really want to start over with another scale. Hopefully Essentials does more than just big name characters, I'd like to see Clayface, Lobo, Cyborg Superman, Bane, etc. I guess we will see.

100% agree it's kinda gonna suffer from the same backlash on them from fans with scale plus there isn't much to say on detail let alone sculpt. It looks nice but the body looks generic not any hard muscle definition or any detail showing him wearing a suit which is my main issue. Plus $27 on a figure with no accessories seems a bit too high. Idk I would rather have DC icons over this since they were improving on it and experimenting with the articulation. Since they letter added the drop down joint on figures which was similar to Figuarts which I loved. Lastly, there was more variety with that line by not giving heavy hitter characters all the time since that's the issue with DC is they always use Batman, Superman and Wonderwoman over other characters and don't give other lesser characters love. So that's why I enjoyed it but after the line kept switching artist it lost some consistentcy with the sculpts since Paul Harding did some great details on the figures on afew of the waves and the rest it looked odd since the faces and bodies started looking oddly proportionated even the faces and paint on them started looking Greg capullo-ish and not realistic which threw it off like how Anthony's customs made a good point when reviewing the Justice League pack how a lot of those figures didn't match together due to different styles.

Mr.SmithGNR Smith I'm sure everyone is well aware that 7in was their original scale, but the problem is, no one ever liked that scale. People were hoping that DCC would eventually get the memo, that collectors wanted their figures to scale with Marvel legends. The fact that DCC just said, "scew it, we're going back to 7in." Shows that they've learned nothing, and aren't listening to their base. Also, they cheaped out on everything with this line. The sculpts and paint apps are generic and bland, and to charge $26-27 for a figure worse than an Icon is just adding salt to the wound.

Dc icons had great sculpts and proportions, good paint, fantastic accessories, unique body molds and just decent articulation. They were a big too short, sure, but they’re good figures. These new essentials don’t have any real nice accessories, reused body molds, and IMO some weird looking proportions. They got some long @$$ monkey arms! Honesty I think I’ll be skipping this whole line and will just try to finish the existing DC Icons line These do have nice headsculpts tho

Love your reviews. Purple background is dope. But I still maintain that I think your videos would flow much better if you moved the articulation toward the end. It feels very anticlimactic to go right into articulation before providing an in-depth overview of the figure. Just my two cents. If Jason Fabok didn't help design these I don't know if I'd be interested...loved that diaphragm joint on the Icons figures, all they needed was to add a waist and thigh joint and they would have been perfect. Are there legal reasons why DC can't make a 6 1/2in line? Like, i don't get it. The figures are either too small or too big. What's so hard about making a line that scales well with other lines? Also, DC has always been known for their sculpts, it was the only redeeming quality their Icons line had going for it. So rather than improving upon their past mistakes, they rather just veer off into another random direction. All of these new scuplts look super generic, lanky, and awkward. And on top of that, no accessories, really? Wow DCC, just, wow. I doubt this line is going to improve much over time. I'll give it a year or two before it crashes and burns like the rest.

The only issue with mezco is the figures are too bulky, and they reuse the same accessories for everyone, and they're a scalpers dream line. Aside from that, the figures are awsome.

Hansel Roman the only thing that can be remotely scalpt is the exclusives but every thing else as long as you preorder you’ll be sure to get one retail. Most of the time the exclusives are just rehashes of the original figure that they already made. The only one that is questionable is the Batman Beyond which is an actual different character you can say the same with Miles but he wasn’t that popular and you could get him retail for awhile. These figures are perfect to me but that’s just being subjective because the ankle pivot as well as articulation is not that great but that doesn’t bother me. These are like Hot Toys you sleep on a Hot Toy it’s likely to go up on you it’s just the type of toy that does it.
