This is great! Personally, I like to make the hole a bit smaller, then heat up the plastic untill it suuuuuper soft, and then use the elasticity of the plastic to keep the joint tight and flush as it articulates, rather than drilling out a flared socket. Tends to cut down on the gapping. Thanks for sharing these!

Both methods work for sure. Thanks!

I literally just took my icons out today, thinking about doing some customizing. I was wondering how to do exactly this, and here this is. Super useful video!

Couldn't u just loosen up or smoothen out the joint u drilled the screw into? So that the thigh could swivel at the hip instead of having that awkward thigh cut?

How much would you charge for this?

i have a question, is this a process i can do on any other icons figure, like green arrow and superman, which are the only ones i have, thanks in advance !
@billmaru3 жыл бұрын
Technically yes. The idea is the same but the process is slightly different. Some of the first DC Icons do not have the hard plastic swivel piece so you basically just need to drill into the leg plastic. They're actually easier than this mode of engineering.
