DC MOVING VLOG | empty apt tour & getting settled

Maybe a circular coffee table in the living room that also rotates to open so u can store books, or a blanket, ect inside. I own a home but from my many years of renting and time living abroad ive learned that Americans have to much furniture because it only has one function. Now I only purchase furniture (big and small) that can serve at least 2 functions. bed with storge drawers on the bottom, couch that folds out i nto a bed or is a pull out bed like those that love joy have that have chairs too!). I think that might help, if you make everything serve dual purposes and buy things that also do that. Cute apt though!

@@amyrauch I saw that and I really like it!I was like dang to bad its not a bit taller so you could mount the tv and use the stand to store clothes, shoes, makeup, and general living room stuff! Its stuper cute though and I really love the couch, although u are braver than me, I could never not do a dark couch cuz id have stains on it in the first 30 min lol

I would just mount the tv, get rid of the tv stand, or store the tv stand, and then you can fit the second chair in the living area.

What peel and stick wallpaper did you use? It looks liked it came off like butter. Would you recommend it?

Loving the living room set up! And natural light is worth the sacrifice of space, you'll feel so much happier and alive IMO. Agreeing with the other comments about purchasing multifunctional furniture (ottomans with storage, couch with storage) or even hanging organizers (saved me when I had 0 floor space to work with).

Ottoman bed frames are lifesavers for storage issues. So are ottoman couches and footstools. You could put some storage boxes up above those kitchen cabinets too x

If I were you, I would move the sofa closer to window then swap the mirror and the chair in your bedroom. You def can better utilize the space above the kitchen cabinets. I live in DC too, so I know every square inch is expensive here. Also maybe add some Ikea cabinets above your TV or couch.

You can try under the bed storage for any clothes, shoes or any miscellaneous you have and if you want to cover it up you could get a bed skirt. Just a thought, hope everything goes smoothly for you!

I Love your new place!!! I bought a three tier cart that fits between the washer and dryer, it’s slim and has wheels. Would your plant stand fit beside the couch in the corner (next to window) or would Leo jump from the couch onto the stand? The plants do look good in the kitchen, I’d love to see some of them above the shelving but it’ll probably be a pain to get down and water. A small round coffee table or round ottoman with a tray on top would probably work in the space. I love it, I cannot wait to see what you do. And great video!
