I'm pretty fond of the DCAU design largely because of the wide neckline. The way it emphasizes his muscular neck and traps makes him look strong despite his arms being covered (Superman's design works the same way), and it helps visually differentiate him from Darkseid; ngl the latter is particularly important considering how Mongul's pretty much Budget Darkseid in both looks and how writers treat him.

This Mongul version is based on New 52. In fact, the back image is from his solo comic during the Forever Evil event.

I like the Young Justice War World Mongul look the best. It's a shame they never made a figure of that version.

Paint...seems to be lacking on figures these days. A wash or anything to bring out the details. Still can't believe Bane shipped with no fist hands. McFarlane needs to really take his articulation scheme back to formula. It's so close to being good.

As far as I can remember, this is a very specific version that appeared in 1 issue. Remember those bracelets being silver with a green glow in certain spots, so it's not really accurate.

NECA’s Alf is definitely worth checking out because I’ve never seen the way it’s head articulation has been done before, the upper half is on a ball joint and the jaw is on a hinge so it moves like a puppet.

This is a custom mcfarlane design which is a mix of his more modern design and his classic design

They keep dumping on any sort of articulation for their weird sculpt. They could be doing so much better with no effort. Also, ZERO accessories for these is terrible.

I like the DCUC look, but their scale is so tiny for some figures. Their BAFs are pretty great and very big though.

In my opinion, Mongul is a pretty cool Superman villain, But to me, The only Superman villain I will consider on even getting is the green/purple power suit Lex Luthor DC figure and I really hope McFarlane makes a classic style Jack Kirby design Darkseid and a 90s style classic Doomsday, Fantastic review overall Anthony.

The no bicep swivel is definitely some McFarlane needs to stop. It’s a step back. He still puts more effort into his action figures than hasbro but it makes me want to not buy any of these that have no bicep swivel and only a single elbow joint.
