Couple of things. Metamorpho has already been a member of the Justice League. One of the most acclaimed Jla runs is Giffen/De Matteis which used Batman and a bunch of C Listers. @waynetech10Ай бұрын
Eh. We'll see. Hopefully it'll be decent, but I have some problems with it. For one, if you have a team with some prestige, the League, in DC, Avengers in Marvel, the concept started to suffer, as everyone was allowed in. It's no longer special. The League isn't a cut above, if every single hero can be a part of it. Does that mean no more Titans? JSA? Outsiders? The cartoon made it clear that these other heroes were great, but the Magnificent 7 are the best in the world. Stories focused on other heroes, like Shining Knight, Vigilante, The Question, etc, but that works better in a tv show format. Not sure it can play, in a comic. And what about solo titles? EVERYONE is Justice League? And many characters have been ruined, at their core. Adding them to a team, trying to give them the rub from the Trinity, won't fix years of crappy continuity. Most importantly, I simply don't trust DC to create a good book, no matter the creative team. Editorial mandates can wreck anything.
@BajaBCatАй бұрын
what's the point of the JL if literally everyone is a member now? this concept worked a bit better in the JLU cartoon because it fit better with that version of the DCU, but i don't see it working the same way in the comic universe.

Stopped caring about Dc comics back in 2005 Identity crisis was the last nail in the coffin. I did buy the occasional dc comic here and there afterwards but that was when i stopped caring altogether Why ? Because i realized. That their writers and editors stopped caring
@annymora-rq6viАй бұрын
@namelesswhocares8648totally after the greats of the bronze age left, dc died for me and here is my theory, giordano, len wein, dennis oneal and much more of that generation learned to create stories with these characters, since they worked with editors who worked with the creators of these characters, these editors scolded them, guided them to make these characters and respect the essence and rules. Thanks to these editors, they learned what you want (i.e. please your inner child). or what What you need and respect the universe of each character and essence, Len Wein learned it and Denni learned it to differentiate one thing, the other thing is that since the 2000s these characters are no longer treated as characters but rather money-making machines for their franchise, that's why before the 2000s it was about respecting the character, not exploiting it, but everything went to shit, now the third generation this included Morrison, Azarrello Paul Dini and more, what's wrong with them? Well, they're great, yes, but, they should have happened more time with the greats of the second generation to learn and differentiate what they want and what the characters are, but when they started few of the third generation worked with them, and the thread of the "legacy" is lost, so if it must be recognized that dc has declined since 2005 and another important point is that the viewer's reading comprehension has declined quite a bit and that is not a lie. The books from the 2000s compared to the 90s are heaven and earth, there was organization, and it was so good that it did well in sales. that a big event every two years was not necessary, there was no need for so many fan services but since the 2000s they have been excited by anything that gives quick satisfaction and the fan can serve themselves and if an identity crisis is a teenage drama with powers it was of no use, pure borbo
@namelesswhocares8648Ай бұрын
@annymora-rq6vi It's hard to talk about inner child when the only childrens you ever see in comic stores are always with their parents at the comic convention and never at the comic stores by themselves like I used to. The way I see it, the grant Morrison, Jim lee ,liefeld, McFarlane generation did not want to end up like Kirby, barely making 50k a year in his 80s with a new York mortgage or dying like Wally wood due to alcoholism They did not want to be exploited. Good for them. But they stopped caring about their own creation. Windstorm was a wonderful universe so was top cow but their creators stopped caring about them and they are now by the wayside. What example does that leave for the next generation ? Now we have only 2 options left.Go woke just to write in a dying industry or go create your IP like ya boy Zack, Eric July, Jon del arroz razorfist etc
@annymora-rq6viАй бұрын
@namelesswhocares8648 I'm with you, there was no direction since the 2000s, his quality dropped horribly, and it must also be said that he was paid badly, badly treated, and a creative difference was obvious. For example, Brubaker left DC because he had a fight with Dan over the contract and salary. ,and the lack of publicity that his run had and the last thing was when he found out about an identity crisis (which sucks) something that harms his run and his character resigned and worked with Marvel and everyone who left DC, They went to Marvel and it was reborn again, lack of organization, an example, Denni was editor of Batman and his universe and his organization is something remarkable, the greats of the bronze age left and did not recover, and as for the generation of Those named, for better or worse, need DC and Marvel to do well because the industry has become so codependent on the big two, that if they do poorly there will be no interest in other independent books. It's sad but that's the way it is, what happens I don't think they want to help the industry. I mean they receive checks for their work, both independently and under contract, and thirdly, the quality is low nowadays. I think there is talent, it's just that there are no good editors, writers who can guide them to train, like Doug Moench did with Len Wein, one his student and the other his teacher and fourth, woke is a nail in the coffin and that in all of the entertainment in the United States, their quality has dropped since the 2000s and woke was their stake

Justice League Unlimited is a pretty great idea for a comic. It is however pretty funny that DC Comics is getting to this idea in the comics a decade after the cartoon it takes its name from. It’s such a no-brainer of an idea that of course it took DC Comic this long to do what a popular DC cartoon that ran from 2004 - 2006 already did. One of the best Avengers comic book ever made, Secret Avengers, was also basically the same idea as the Justice League Unlimited cartoon too. It wasn’t every Avengers member, (Secret Avengers was like third Avengers title as far as “importance” in the line went at the time) but you had a good size pool of characters that it’d pull from for different missions. Secret Defenders in the ‘90s worked the same way too...although Secret Avengers was a better title.

Having all of those super-heroes being members of the Justice League is not even necessary. It reminds me of the Legion Of Super-Heroes. All of those recruits and none of them really were necessary. If the majority of them are reserve members then that's fine. Depending on the specific assignment or mission, they can choose the particular super-hero who is good for the job. Having more than the main best characters in every issue of the comic book is just done only for variety. Not because every story calls for it.

The JLU worked, for the most part, as a concept for the animated series. Hopefully this book follows in that legacy. This is what happens when a company runs out of ideas, they start throwing everything at the wall. DC should of done just a complete and full reboot with the New 52, no half-assing it, no five Robins, no multiple lantern corps, etc. Or let some of these heroes retire, age out, and stay dead, while you move forward with the legacy heroes. But nope!

Sure, but look at where we're at. As I said I think DC should've done a complete and full reboot back when they did New 52. They shouldn't have half-assed it. Or they should've continued to allow legacy characters grow and take over for the originals. Keep Wally West as the main Flash, let Barry rest in peace, keep Dick Grayson as Batman, let Tim Drake pick up the mantle of Nightwing, Let Conner Kent take up a new mantle, etc. etc.

Dude, honestly no one cares about legacy characters. I mean...Kyle and Wally worked because both Barry and Hal were dead.
@GraniteLibertyАй бұрын
@@andresanguianozuniga6798 . But that's my point. They should've let Barry rest in peace. They can't have it both ways. If nobody cares about legacy characters, stop creating them. If nobody cares about Dick Grayson grown up then reboot him. And I don't buy that nobody cares. If that was true, then Teen Titans and Young Justice would've never succeeded, and Young Avengers would've never been a thing. One person's "garbage" is another person's treasure.
@andresanguianozuniga6798Ай бұрын
@GraniteLiberty The Wally thing is curioius, ironically Wally never "replaced" Barry at all....or he should? After Flashpoint i don't know. Here we are seeing a BIG problem: The possibility of this characters being rebooted until the end of time. I know that because i thought too about rebooting what we don't like. Because their reboot question starts to confront what is canon and what is not, what should be and if legacy characters should exist in the first place. I bet my Coj0nes that mentality is what makes Peter and MJ never returning on a canon level, that and the marital frustration of many writters and editors have. Not having a real arc in mind. The "Perpetual Present" I loved SuperSons but Superman and Batman still existed, that worked to some degree. The moment they grew up Jonathan they klled that. What is the moment to reboot This thing? For example, i don't dislike Nightwing or Red Hood, but that starts making the Question: How much robins Batman needs? Or if Jay Garrick exists or not in the DC Universe or if Wally should become Flash too. In Marvel is of Miles Morales should be THE Spider-Man too, or if other person should be Captain America. Both DC and Marvel don't have a clear vision of the characters, of their universe. Reason why many people believe that should stop producing cómics for a while, at least canonically. Because they are just catering to Nostalgia and ruining it in the process. Rebooting...it's not that easy. Honestly, i stopped caring about the Main universes long time ago, not because i wanted, but because i hate lack of continuity. But even with alternate universes...we returning some way to Clark or Bruce or Diana...or Even Hal and Barry. It's frustrating, it seems You can't replace characters of they work. At the point it seems this is their Nature.

Well, I do hate Mark Waid with a passion, but they got me on this one issue. I ordered 2 copies of the Batman/Hush Jim Lee cover, I'm only buying them for the Jeff Loeb/Jim Lee story, and I want the covers to reflect that.
@MatthewLoh-ru1mwАй бұрын
Hey, Wes, just want to I firm you that Waid is stepping away from writing superheroes! (his words, NOT mine!)

Out of the loop, what do you have against Mark Waid?

Comics will always remain same goodd va evil hood wins how you described justice league unlimited how avengers comics are almost everyone in marvel has or was an avenger at time Spider-Man Hercules ghost rider venom, you forgot to mentioned countless variants versions of Spider-Man and venom out there black , gay , punk , Asian ,
@WTSD850Ай бұрын
they should at least rename him, so he's not just called superman of china maybe super ying yang something like that.
@drunkdealer583Ай бұрын
In Marvel they have practically every hero (from Great established characters to Lame Legacy Characters) in the Avengers. It's just as bad as this new Justice League.

11:36 Frank Quietly is horrible. His All-Superman made Superman look like a 300 pound fat guy. And don't get me started on his New X-Men run 🤮🤮🤮🤮 His terrible art is up there with John Romita jr.
@PainInTheSАй бұрын
Hahshs very much agreed, Quitely is absolute garbage! I have always liked Romita though, very stylized and distinctive.
@DeadpoolNegativeАй бұрын
Quietly is so fucking lazy too. All Star Superman is filled with negative space and Superman is usually in far away shots so he had to draw as little as possible

I might read it later but I’m not buying it monthly

Calling this rag Justice League Unlimited and not putting it in the DCAU continuity is a crime. It deserves to fail. Just for that.
@chuckskillz5184Ай бұрын
You should read Justice League Infinity. It's in the DCAU continuity and it is a direct continuation of the Amazo storyline from the cartoon. It's even drawn in that Bruce Timm art style.
@cobinizerАй бұрын
@@chuckskillz5184 Yeah, I have the TPB. I'm just a little miffed that they dare to desecrate the best continuity ever with "modern" writing.

Waid made Ya Boi Zack a martyr. For that alone he should have been banned from comics. Along with Zack, because he contributes nothing of value either. But Waid actually tired to kill his Antarctic publishing deal when Zack would have blown that up all on his own.
@john-zi9suАй бұрын
Justice League Unlimited vs Legion of Doom Infinity where all the villains are in the L.O.D. An event with more one-shots, mini-series that lasts for four months and nothing consequential comes of it.

Read mark waid don’t cancel people every author has controversy I thought we liked free speech
@jessr1698Ай бұрын
There's free speech and there's making threats to another comic company just because of a particular person. Unfortunately, Mark Waid did the latter and personally I don't want to support him because of that.
@JosephRockfordАй бұрын
@ I mean every creator you love has threatened and screwed over other creators and people in much worse manner.

Waid said he wanted to see the comic industry burn to the ground @@JosephRockford
@darrenlang258Ай бұрын
@IGotNewsForYou That may be true, but it also goes both ways, as many content creators (and in their comments section ) who are part of the Culture War/Anti-SJW community have basically said the same thing, only in reverse, as I have seen on many videos/read in many comments how they want all of mainstream entertainment (comics, movies, etc.) to be destroyed (because--and I'm assuming here--it will be replaced by people who all share Right-Wing/Anti-SJW mentality).
