"യാത്രയും അനുഭവങ്ങളും"- Conversation with Saji Markose, Tanoora Swetha Menon, and Benyamin at Kerala Literature Festival.
The session dealt with the travel experiences of designer and traveler Thanooraa Swetha Menon, Malayalam author Benyamin, and Dark tourist Saji Markose. Thanooraa Swetha Menon, a solo woman traveler who traveled around 26 countries, shared her travel experiences. "I`m traveling to understand myself outside of my isolations and to speak freely," she said. "Travel gave me confidence and played a great role in decision-making," she added. Thanooraa also shared her travel experiences through terrorist areas such as Poonch and Shopian. She stated that anyone can be attacked anywhere they are known and that Delhi was her most terrifying place to travel alone. Saji Markose, a dark tourist who traveled through 56 countries, expressed his life as a tourist and the experiences he gained along the way. He talked about his travels to Finland and dark tourism. He expressed that he understood himself as a dark tourist only after Benyamin noticed him. Benyamin concluded the session by saying, "Fear is what we create, and it stops us from traveling."

Saji Markose: Saji Markose is an award-winning travelogue writer, social activist, and orator. He has a passion for dark tourism and has visited 56 countries in this capacity. He is also a Senior Project Manager and Technical Advisor for the Ministry of Housing in Bahrain. In light of his contributions, he was awarded the Garshom Pravasi Ratna Award.
Tanoora Swetha Menon: Tanooraa Swetha Menon is an entrepreneur and a solo traveler. She is the designer and managing director of Zera Kids Collections, a kid`s clothing label created in 2017 for girls and boys. She has visited over 26 countries.
Benyamin: Benyamin is a novelist and short story writer. His works appear regularly in Malayalam publications in Kerala. His much-celebrated novel, Aadujeevitham, was translated into English as Goat Days, published by Penguin Random House, and was shortlisted for the Man Asian Literary Prize and the DSC Prize for South Asian Literature. The film adaptation of Aadujeevitham is in process, and the novel has been chosen as the curriculum in many Indian universities. One of his twin novels, Mullappoo Niramulla Pakalukal, translated as Jasmine Days by Juggernaut, won the acclaimed Indian JCB Prize for Literature in 2018. He is a recipient of the Kerala Sahitya Akademi Award and the Vayalar Award. His latest book, Tarakans Granthavari, is published by DC Books.
