Have you done a video on how to program your train decoder using the multi maus?
@buckamboolmodeltrains Жыл бұрын
Hi Mark, sorry no I haven't, I use JMRI Decoder Pro to do all of my programming, through my Digikeijs DR5000. If you are keen to have a go though, you can program individual CV's through the programming menu. Hold the shift key and press menu, and scroll across to the second menu (programming), hit ok and then press ok again to open the 'CV modification' tool. You can then type in any CV number, e.g. '6' for CV6, press ok. It will then read CV6 and if successful will tell you what value is programmed to the decoder for that CV. Whilst it's flashing you then have the option to change this value. Hope this maybe will help you get started!

Even less easy to just use MENU+1 and then CV code is read and then push train number-digit to be used and then OK, and then is saved. Couldn't be easier!!

Hey! I just bought it few days ago. I freaked out at first when watching your video for first time, but now after hands on is just easy peasy. It s just like an old phone :)) Btw, almost all new locos come with dcc address 3 by default so how can you change that in order to add multiple locos on multimaus? Because if you have more than 1, you get that Err10 just like you in the video.
@buckamboolmodeltrains Жыл бұрын
Yep it is pretty intuitive once you get your hands on one! To change the dcc address, easiest thing to do is to change them to another short address (between a value of 1 and 127), changed with CV1. Hold down shift and menu to get into the menu, scroll across to programming, I think it's the third menu item, and then I believe the first menu item of the programming menu is 'CV modification'. Open this up and enter '1', for CV1. It should then read the value of CV 1 once you hit ok, which will then flash on the screen, hopefully it will flash '3'. When flashing, you can change that number to something else (between 1-127) to give the loco a new address. Once you've done this, you then need to program that particular locomotive and it's new address into the MultiMaus 'library' if you will. So that when you scroll across to that particular locomotive, the MultiMaus is addressing it's DCC address. Hope this makes sense! The manual outlines how to do this also.

I bought the roco set and plugged the whole lot in and worked straight away. I once took my train to the train club to try on their track, which required the use of a different branded controller. I bought another train that day and then had to put my whole set up back in the cupboard. After 6 months I have finally got it all out again. The train I purchased originally in the roco set, I csnt get to run, however the train that I purchased at the train club ran straight away. I cant seem to get the hang of the z21 controller. I have added multiple times to the library but it just won't run. Please help

Hi Arron, with the original loco, it may be worth doing a factory reset on it. If you're not sure how to do this, just try at least programming CV1, the locomotive's short address. How to do all of this is detailed in the Z21 controller manual if you're not sure... Let me know how you go!

At the Loco Library you can add up to 64 Locomotives by 5 five digit name onto the red roco Multimouse, the dark grey Fleischmann Multimouse or the new cable wired light grey z21 (roco/Fleischmann) Multimouse, all are same but in different colours of itself. The black cableless WLAN WiFi Z21 Multimouse allows you to install max. 100 Locomotives into the Loco Library and allows to use 10 digit names of those 100 Locos but the first 5 are seen onto the display and the other digits will be shown in ,,rolliing letterrs" like on longer words, too. If you are using the old roco/Fleischmann digital system with the booster 10764 the Multimouse and the booster 10764 both are working together as command station, so you never may disconnect the first Multimouse from Master plug in. This old dcc system cannot read out CVs at all. If using the maintenace tool at the white z21 Start or white z21 or black Z21 Command Station to upgrade the Multimouse to a newer firmware Version like of V 2.0 than the Multimouse never can be used as Master Multimouse thereafter anymore again, it disallow to use the old digital dcc system, but you will have the possibility to downgrade the Multimouse firmware to version V 1.06, the last older version that allows you to use the old digital system before the z21/Z21 family of DCC Command Stations came up. The both white z21 Start and z21 DCC Command stations does not have a separated programming track connection, so it would be useful to connect the both white z21 Start or z21 DCC Command station onto a short piece of track to use the POM (programming onto Mainline) Modus for your programming track. For more comfartable programming I connected a short Programming track as siding to my modular layout and using a six pin double poolarity switch with center off function to swutch between programming track and layout, using the POM Modus only. With all roco/Fleischmann digital systems and of course with the digikeijs DR 5000 Multibus Command Station you can use to handle all roco/Fleischmann and Z21 handheld Multimouse throttles to set all three different kinds of consists. 1. Basic Consist = setting all locos to the same decoder address, not the best method 2. Using loco library settings for Universal Consist (JMRI) like of what the roco/Fleischmann app does, not the best method, it has some delays between in max. 2 locos, reverse running locos need to be inverted in direction of travel into CV 29 3. Advanced Consits via programming of CV 19 First make your settings on CV 21 and CV 22, use the digitrax tool box calculator for it, than make settings into CV 29 and use the help of the digitrax tool box CV calculator again. Programming onto CV 19 is easy. You can use any 2 digit consist address between 0 and 99 to add several different locos into the consist. Go into CV Programming to the lead loco and set at CV 19 your Consist address as example the consist address 22. When using a trailor loco go into their CV programming and add the same consist address of 22. If the loco will run in reverse direction than add the value of 128 to the Consist address of 22 and do programming it with the value of 150. 22 + 128 = 150 (reverse direction of travel, only). The rear loco will get the same consist address on CV 19 of Consist address 22. The consist is seut up and as long as valid as like kill the consist from the CV 19 of your locomotives. Killing a loco from consist: Go into the loco Decoder settings menu and write into CV 19 the value of 0 (zero) than the locomotive is no longer part of the consist and you can move thr loco by its before 2 or 4 digit locomotive address like before setting the consist.

Can you do a video or just me the info if your already done it on how to program each loco to its own number in the chip and how to consist many locos
@buckamboolmodeltrains Жыл бұрын
Hi William, Unfortunately at the moment I just don't have enough time to do a video like that sorry! However, this is a reply I gave to @mrengineer1234 a few months ago, on how to program locomotives: "To change the dcc address, easiest thing to do is to change them to another short address (between a value of 1 and 127), changed with CV1. The manual outlines how to do this also." You can also scroll through the locomotive library with the left and right arrow keys, and if you scroll across to 'NEW', and then hit 'OK', you can type in a new locomotive name, and then a DCC address (e.g. "6") and then it will program that particular DCC address to the locomotive, provided it's on the programming track. To consist locomotives you need to program a particular number (between 1 and 127) to CV19 for any or all of the locomotives that you would like to be consisted together. This can be done with the procedure I described earlier for CV1. Hope this helps somewhat, sorry I can't do a video on it!

Hi Luis, if you hold down the 'shift' arrow and 'menu' buttons at the same time you get access to the menu. Using the left and right buttons on the top of the controller scroll across to settings, push 'ok', scroll across to language, push 'ok', and then scroll through the languages to select your preferred language. I'm not sure off the top of my head if Spanish is included, it may depend on how up-to-date your MultiMaus is... All the best!

HOW TO RESET AN DECORER ?
@buckamboolmodeltrains7 ай бұрын
Hi @joaomartins7732, To reset a decoder, it is quite likely you will need to program a particular number to CV8, a lot of decoders use CV8 = 8 as their factory reset procedure. Hold down shift and menu to get into the menu, scroll across to programming, I think it's the third menu item, and then I believe the first menu item of the programming menu is 'CV modification'. Open this up and enter '8', for CV8. It should then read the value of CV 8 once you hit ok, which will then flash on the screen, it will flash a particular NMRA manufacturer ID of the decoder. When flashing, you can change that number to something else (between 1-255) to reset the decoder, hit ok and this will be programmed. You would be best to check the brand of your decoder, and what value needs to be programmed to CV8 for a reset, or maybe even to a different CV number depending on the decoder type... Hope this helps!
