I agree. Kelli truly made DCC who she is, and her passion for it shows. Judy too, but I can tell by the changes in her attitude she might be getting more and more burned out as the seasons go. After Cassie retired especially.

I do think Cassie retiring made her feel like her mission was accomplished, but you can tell she still has so much passion for it so I think the spark will come back for her especially as her granddaughter gets older. 3rd generation DCC gives her something else to be excited about.

Lacey is literally one of the best kickers in DCC history. I don't know why they have never brought her back to help teach the kickline. The only DCC that has come close to having her kicks is Jada. Jada's kicks are pretty as well.

The level of fitness required of these ladies is incredible. I reckon it must be roughly equivalent to the level of fitness required of Olympic athletes. And the flexibility!!! I am a man in my 70s, but i couldn't kick up shoulder height let alone above my head level when i was in my teens. Those women can kick above their heads!! And how on earth they remember all those routines well enough to be so confident i have no iea. Amaing stuff. And of course so easy on the eye.

In regard to Cassie and the easy pass she was given, I think an adjustment in how the professional group decide who will be in final group could fix the entire issue. Watching the entire panel as they viewed Cassie’s first tryout really pointed out something tome. Remember when Kelli turned to Judy and told her to calm down? Well, look at all the other judges faces. One of them was even bidding their head no. If they would keep these same panel judges but made them vote anonymously, there would be a more truthful result. I strongly believe if that had been done, Cassie would never have made this team at any point. She is a high school cheerleader at best. Let those ballots, feedback, and notes be submitted anonymously. They could still have as many votes as they wanted during the audition process at logical points (first cuts, training camp, final cuts, etc). To do this would be a more genuine outcome and be far more fair to all candidates. All they’d have to do is perhaps convert all input to a numerical system and even hire a transcriptionist if there was concern handwriting would “out” the person submitting the critiques. If you want to ensure that judges talk among each other to bring in all opinions, maybe they could hold off on that until finals. By then, horribly skilled dancers like Cassie would probably have been voted out by that point. I bet you 98% of most people passing by this comment would probably agree that Cassie should never have been placed on that team. It’s obvious. I bet Kelli would even agree if she was forced to be honest.
